Programs: The city of mullens has a long history of operating a municipal swimming pool for the use of area residents. Due to the declining local economy the city is no longer able to afford to operate the pool and the foundation has agreed to subsidize the city of mullens for some labor and maintenance costs for the operation of the swimming pool. This program primarily benefits the school age children of the city of mullens and the surrounding areas.

due to the decline in the local ecomony the city of mullens has been unable to properly maintain the multiple playgrounds within the city. As a town known statewide for its longstanding basketball programs the basketball courts on the city playgrounds are considered by many to be an integral part of the city. Recognizing the importance of avalable outside activities to the children and students in the area, the foundation has undertaken the goal of rebuilding the multiple playgrounds within the city. The first playground to receive attention is commonly referred to as the "west mullens playground". The basketball court on this playground was repaved, sealed and striped. The fencing and area around the court was repaired. The entire playground received a facelift.

as explained in the narrative to program 2, the foundation has undertaken a plan to rebuild the playgrounds within the city of mullens, wv. The second playground to receive attention is commonly referred to as the "south mullens playground". Although this playground is still a work in process, work has commenced on it and will be completed in 2018. Once completed the basketball court will be completely refurbished.
