I am a proud father to a little cute 2 year old girl that has a feeding tube.

I should have done more research. Like most people I just looked at the good rating. Avoid this rescue if you can. We met our puppy at the park with her foster mother. We fell in love and were told she was available. We put in our application for Suki Lulu Bug on June 12 and were told by the foster that we would be able to officially adopt her after her surgery. On July 17th, after being in constant communication, receiving medical records, pictures, after making arrangements for the pick-up by our trainer and after making flight arrangements ( flying the family from San Diego to KC to pick up our new family member) we were told they would prefer to adopt her to a local family. It was like being punched in the stomach. We tried to reach Danielle Reno the owner but she never called us back. They never answer their phone. I kept sending emails. They did reply a second time and tried to say that "actually your application was not complete so you were not an official adopter". It was like the twilight zone. I sent my dad (local) into their office and the kids working there were able to pull the file on suki using my name. It was shocking. The puppy was not there and they were not able to give us any info. I found a great attorney who handles these kinds of cases. She said these people have a track record. She had recently dealt with another case involving these people. General consensus it that they should have their license pulled. She shared a lot of info about how negligent they are. We are lodging complaints with the state. In the end Im pretty sure we will not get our puppy. Everyone is heart broken. We had spent $4900 on boarding, training, travel etc... and these people could care less. No response at all. It's like a bunch of children run this place. We have contacted others who have had similar experience. It's shocking a place like this would still be open. AVOID THIS RESCUE!!! They are known in the legal and pet community to skirt the law. They are known to be negligent.

Veterans; Voices magazine has been publishing the stories of veterans since World War I. The first-person accounts of our nation's defenders are compelling reading and a boost to morale for the writer. They are informative and heart-breaking and heart-warming for the readers. Many have experienced similar incidents and can identify with the author. Others are learning of the deeds and doings of the brave men and women who have defended our country.

A few years ago my son asked me to join him in a hockey game. I did and I still play today but this isn't about me but an organization that goes above and beyond for others. HASB raises awareness and funds to help find a cure for pancreatic cancer. Seeing a person who is either battling or a survivor drop the puck at one of our games is very touching. Getting to know more about his organization and helping others is so rewarding. If HASB didn't promote that they where going to be at the Chicago Purple Strides I would never had heard about it. HASB is a sponsor of a major event and was able to reach out to many and bring awareness that his organization is trying to help find that cure. HASB also was at St. Louis Purple Strides and was a sponsor there as well. HASB will be having a couple games this fall and will be raising funds while we drop our gloves for cancer. When you get the NHL, AHL, and ECHL all involved with donating items you know you have made an impact. Today and everyday I will be thankful for what Bob has done with HASB. It is a top notch organization that gives back more than it receives.

I have seen, first hand, the Gulu Project (aka the Burn Village) and I was in awe. Three huts exist which were very clean, they had LED lights on the ceiling and well made concrete floors. Mosquito nets hung from the ceiling and were large enough to cover a big sleeping area. The latrines were being dug out that very day, a private "bathroom" was completed with sides for privacy, a well manicured garden sat nearby. A van pulled up with a cook who delivered her fresh, hot meals for the three families who would stay that night. I was moved by the teamwork I saw, with the adults pitching in all around and with such visible gratefulness. <br>This village is an outstanding work in progress. I was witness to the direct, grassroots efforts and volunteerism in making this much needed village come to fruition. Funds have gone directly to paying for supplies, feeding the burn victims and there families, providing wound care supplies, transportation to and from the village and hospital, planting a garden. No fluff. No extras.

The program is much more than an athletic one. It teaches many life lesson to the intellectually challenged. How to take directions form othe than parent, the value of team work,how skills can improve if you practice and work at, the way to deal with winning and more importantly how to deal with losing.
