I adopted Duke from this location he is a male tuxedo cat and he is a awesome companion the staff at the facility were very knowledgeable and they even gave me some food and a carrier 4 him free of charge ty golden valley humane society you guys rock Duke has already won the hearts of my family and friends he has a forever home with us ty very much

Save-a-Bull has an amazing group of people that commit their time and energy to saving pit bulls and pit bull mixes. I have been volunteering with Save-a-Bull for many years on the marketing team and at events. I recently was elected to the board and am very excited to continue my service. There are so many different ways to volunteer, which makes it interesting, and we are always looking for fosters! Food and supplies are always given at no charge, as well as vetting for all our dogs. We strive to safely rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome these wonderful dogs, and we do it all with a great team of people!

Horrible and heartbreaking experience. I did a foster to adopt. On a Saturday They Handed me a very sick puppy off a small transport van from Texas that held 28 dogs, I named her Rue. She had Mucus coming from her eyes and nose and a very bad cough. Without consulting a vet the owner handed me clavamox and told me Rue just had a bad cold. As Rue got progressively worse I begged to take her to a vet on Monday. They refused to allow me to go even when I offered to pay. Rue now had a twitching left paw and was sleeping 98% of the day. I told the owner she was off balance when she walked and the cough had not gotten better. The mucus was still coming from her eyes and nose to the point it was hardening around her nose and preventing her breathing. I was washing her face about 8 times a day steaming her in the shower and running a vaporizer 24 /7 and it still didn't help. On Tuesday one of Rue's littermates (Darby) was screaming in pain they bought her to the vet and started screening for Distemper. On Wednesday morning Rue was also screaming in pain . I texted them at 9am with a video showing her screaming they advised I should wait Until the test came back on Darby to see if distemper was confirmed. After insisting Rue needed painkillers like Darby they agreed they would show the vet the video in an effort to get the painkillers. They left me hanging all day. I messaged several times asking if the vet will see her. Around 4:30pm they confirm an appointment for us at 7:15 pm that evening. Rue was diagnosed with an unidentified lung infection that was attacking her nervous system and causing the twitch and pnemomina . She was prescribed several drugs and I was told if she gotten anyworse to bring her back she would need to be hospitalized. On Friday Distemper was confirmed in both dogs. The rescue owner refused further medical care for the dogs stating we had all we needed there is nothing more that can be done. They said the puppies will just have to fight for their lives. They refused to inform the remaining 26 fosters that their pups were exposed to Distemper during transport leaving the fosters pets at risk. Their reasoning was they were already exposed it didn't matter. They wanted us to keep the puppies in our homes without further medical treatment in the hopes they will survive. Meanwhile Another littermate (Ida) was hospitalized with Parvo. She was vomiting for 3 days before they allowed her to go to the vet. Again the remaining 25 fosters mom's were not informed of the Parvo exposure or Distemper exposure. After talking to my vet about the situation I refused to keep my dog McGee at risk of being infected while watching Rue suffer through a horrible certain death . Without medical assistance the chances were slim she would survive. Nerve damage had already set in her paws were twitching. I forced them to take Rue back eventhough they kept claiming they had no available fosters. Ironically Rue was then put in the animal hospital for boarding because she had nowhere else to go. It is the best place for her . I pray Rue gets the help she needs. It broke my heart into a million pieces to leave her but without supportive care I could not help her and the health risk to McGee was too great. I took McGee to be checked for Distemper the next day. Thank god he is ok. It was the worse experience of my life. MY heart goes out for Rue she deserved so much better than what she got. she was a beautiful intelligent dog. The foster of her sibling Darby was begging for them to take her back . Darby had already come to a point where she couldn't lift her head anymore and the foster was telling the rescue she cannot care for this dog it was breaking her heart and she had to go to work. Their answer to her was they had no other fosters to do it She would just have to keep Darby and help her fight through Distemper. This rescue is more concern about their budget and narassistic heroism in saving as many dogs as they can. I was constantly told how many dogs they save and how hard they work while being refused medical care for Rue. They take in too many dogs without properly vetting them and then show no regards for their fosters mental health or the Welfare of the foster's current pets. They push sick dogs into their fosters homes then guilt them into keeping the dogs regardless of the consequences. They take no responsibilities or precautions in preventing outbreaks of deadly diseases. They should be closed down

One of the most basic needs for the care of companion animals is spaying and neutering. Even if people can't afford it, in which case MN SNAP can help by making it easier and more affordable.
