The iStart Valley High School Internship helped me with many aspects of learning how to start a business. It was definitely an important stepping stone in my education and future. I have earned valuable knowledge that will stick with me throughout my career and life with this experience.

Hi my name is Pranay Ayalasomayajula, and I am a 10th grader at Green Level High School. This program really helped me introduce myself to other people around the country. It also helped me learn about different business mindsets and strategies. It also gave me the confidence and competing edge I always knew I needed.

This program was very eye-opening to the business and technology industry. Not only did it teach me tangible skills such as how to put together a pitch desk, present to others, and work in a team, but it also helped me make valuable connections. This program teaches students about entrepreneurship in a real-world way, making it enjoyable and memorable.

During this business internship, I was able to recognize the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, mapping the key players and resources that push innovation and economic growth. I provided a very detailed ecosystem map, carrying out trend analyses and applying cutting-edge tools such as Generative AI to find impactful applications-like any tech-savvy enthusiast. They allowed me to use Design Thinking principles, developed agile business models using Lean Startup methodology, and led a small team to create actionable business plans for presentation to Entrepreneurs in Residence and the Executive Leadership Team.

This program helped develop my speaking skills as I had to pitch ideas various times and receive feed back on it. In addition, I had to create ideas and make them into businesses which helped to spark my creativity. Lastly, working with a group of people helped develop my collaborative and communication skills which I can take with me for future experiences.

My internship at iStart Valley was an amazing and very educational experience that helped me grow both personally and professionally. I appreciated the supportive environment, where I had the chance to work alongside a talented team while learning much about business and economics. The High School internship program at iStart Valley is a unique program that really engages interns to explore the world of business and how to implement ideas in the real world. iStart Valley's focus on STEB (Science, Technology, Engineering, Business) really changes the way you think and really encourages you to think from an entrepreneur's perspective. iStart Valley Internship has been an extremely impactful program which I would thoroughly recommend to other high school students. As an intern you were exposed to immersive and educational lessons on the ins and outs of business, entrepreneurship, and new tech. iStart also allowed me to network with other invested high school students and even allowed me to create my own startup, competing for real prizes. iStart has better changed my mindset and encouraged me to stay up to date with the current tech and startup industry news. My startup team and I are planning to continue building our idea and presenting it beyond iStart, we would never have been able to do this, if not for iStart. The IStart Valley AI and Data Science Course gave me the opportunity to be introduced into the future of AI and Machine Learning, and how it is being applied today to solve the problems of this age. Starting from the basics, this program effectively teaches the process of how data scientists receive, interpret, and process data to be used in machine learning models, and then teaching the students how to create some of these models and implement them into real life situations. This program has inspired me to continue to learn about the vast and quickly growing world of AI and Machine Learning.

The IStart Valley Summer Internship was a great experience and I learned a lot including leadership skills, entrepreneurship strategies, how to build a business, and collaborate with a team. I worked with a team from the class to build a business with guidance from the teacher, and I can take it further to build a real business. The instructor gave us real examples of various topics to help us understand and learn better. The skills and experience I gained in this course will not only help me in entrepreneurship and business but also in the future in any career that I choose. The most important thing that I learned was collaborating with the teams on business ideas focusing on different cutting edge entrepreneurship topics. We brainstormed on a multitude of topics ranging from technology to business and came up with new ideas that might innovatively change the world in this age. My daughter was in the most recent batch of high school students selected for the internship program. She was really looking forward to it. The program started off ok with regular meetings but soon deteriorated. No responses to questions. No real workshops on design thinking as originally publicized. The meetings had little structure with the coordinator mostly rambling on and on. Assignments were delayed. It seemed to be managed by a single person with part-time commitment to this program. Not worth the $500 fee and the time.
