Lakewood Nonprofits and Charities

I greatly appreciate the humanitarian activities and programs of Abakwa Educational and Health Drive. They have been very active in the English part of Cameroon since the start of the arm conflict in 2016. I’ve collaborated with them in two education and health programs and I appreciate their closeness to the suffering population and impact on the communities in the North West Region.

The amount of work this organization places into creating baskets for those in need is amazing. Aside from the work they are doing with Hygiene baskets, their work to help those in recovery to attend fun sober events is really going to help thousands achieve success with sustaining their sobriety.

Provides research and support groups for people going through transformational experiences. I've found the group very helpful and their organization has connected me with others going through the same experience--which sometimes includes spiritual crisis. They've been a life-saver for many--literally!

11/05/2019<br>Overall<br>I was thinking that the people here were cool, but after today, I have very very different thoughts about the people that work for this establishment. They wont ever twist their mouth to say anything positive, or better yet, just not say anything at all, very confusing but I guess we definitely are NOT on the same wavelength. Im still wondering what the heck does one persons business have anything at all to do with what goes on between their walls and the next? Like, You are so busy spreading bad news around actually taking time out your day to make a rediculous phone call to a manager to talk about something like, I could never imagine. You must of been looking for something, anything, you must were planning or wanted to call, but you know what, your business is very very unprofessional, your managers know nothing whatsoever about marketing, and how to keep customers and to retain your customers as well as expanding your business to suit the needs of others because your a hateful bunch of people who are not interested in your own affairs. but that of someone else and probably have a habit of doing so. Well I have taken time out my day to express to the public to not support your organization, and to show no loyalty to your business at all. And to run away and to avoid this place like the plague, uninteresting, useless simply if your so unhappy about where you are than too bad. We all have to deal with things in life we dont like honey NOT just you!!!

I joined Key Club my freshman year at Saint Joseph High School and it was a really cool way to find different service opportunities while being able to have fun with your friends who were also in the Club. Outside of the service opportunities that occurred outside of our campus, we also did some projects within our campus. Some of these projects included making homemade blankets, collecting recycled water bottles, and making Christmas boxes filled with toys for the less fortunate. These projects were so much fun and was a great way to serve our community.

I needed a place to sleep, eat and get off the streets. I was homeless in downtown Los Angeles. By accepting an invitation to live at Lotts of Hope I received a warm bed, good food, camaraderie, a blessed church to attend. They helped me with food stamps and getting a living expense. God Bless Lott's of Hope.

I knew the President of this charity and his wife (Vice-President) prior to the passing of his father and charity namesake Gary L. Hoop. The remarkable maturation he underwent after his father's death and subsequent launch of the charity was an amazing thing. I felt compelled to join in on his generosity and donated the materials as well as installed insulated foam-board ceiling in their office. The office is a converted 2-car garage at their home which they've converted to dedicated office-space for their organization. The sacrifice of space, time, effort, a lot of their own money and his father's motorcycle is beyond commendable and definitely unselfish. I highly recommend their organization and hope to do more going forward.

GRCN Connecting Communities is the most passionate caring organizations that I have ever come across. They follow through. While being one of the best they have not settled. They have begun to extend there services to not just work with abused and neglected youth that are in the system they have also included those that have aged out. There mission now included providing housing, vocational training and real work experience all with out government , state or local funds.

This fantastic Nonprofit, National Hydrocephalus Foundation, has helped educate me about hydrocephalus. I turned to them to learn more about it because my girlfriend told me she was born with hydrocephalus. Debbi Fields is always ready to answer any questions and is so enthusiastic! The newsletter is fantastic! Michael Fields writes informative, easily understood articles. The newsletter taught me about the challenges facing people with hydrocephalus and about their fears. I am very grateful to this wonderful group of caring folks, the national Hydrocephalus Foundation!
