I would not give any money to this non profit. I have written the governor about this subject and what they have done to my daughter who worked there as staff. Don’t waste your time or money. How they can get away with treating someone with disabilities is so horrible. The fact that this company still operates is beyond me.

i am homeless following bad investments and decisions following a land sell of 33 acres in north carolina. recently lost my transportation due to an electrical issue...and my insurance had lapsed about two weeks but it was a total loss. i once had a lot. so, this could be anyone. good samaritan has gave me food, resource connections, and has simply saved me in times i had no idea where else to turn. i'm looking now for a job but the most difficult thing about homelessness is 'storage.' carrying bags is a lot of work...and when a job is found they don't want to hire someone with baggage. lastly, when i go to work, simply to return to find that other homeless people has stolen all that i own, its impossible to go back to work. if good samaritan (or anyone) could help me obtain storage for one month so i can work id pay it back, or work it off. a lot of people abuse gifts given...its sad. but, if 1 out of every 1000 uses it wisely; that 1 could be you. i love you johnson city. michael mabe. 5768dta@gmx.com. i have no phone but anyone needing leaves raked, a licensed driver, music instructor, or help training dogs or other i am available.

It's appalling just how low down a bunch of demarcates operatives treat the disable in Eastman ga, my friend just had a stroke after five days no holiday or weekend exclusion they send the elderly and disable a notice to evict and charge 50 dollars on top of rent if late if any one knows dale he's at the VA recovering let him know they are starting eviction against him, they know he just had a stroke too, these idiots running legacy villas in Eastman are unbelievably lowdown <br><br>Fairview management you are lowlifes

I first came to haven of mercy in 2010 and I was just 25 years old never have been in a situation like this ever before I stayed the first night and they tried to get people to go out and do volunteer work with them we mowed yards all day long and I was told for me volunteering that would go towards my staying there and I worked hard and I would see them all tom taking all that money people donated and putting it right in his own pocket and then we went and worked all day for a new start up company in Johnson City they needed clothes because it was a rag company to make washrags and towels so the haven sold a lot of there extra clothes to this company and we loaded it for them and they paid us all 25 dollars each and when I get back to the haven tom came up to me and asked how much did you all make today and I told him he was wanting me to give him the 25 dollars I made to him I was told for staying there you had to pay 5 dollars a night for staying or go out with them in the mornings and volunteer with them mowing I had already been going out mowing with them so I wasn't going to give up my 25 dollars and the store they are running tom pockets most of that money and grant you are a wolf in sheep's clothing I could bet you are the antichrist this is really a corrupt place all the food in the kitchen had cockroaches crawling on it I was homeless and I wouldn't eat the food I have no reason to lie about these people so people do some investigating into where you donate your money to first please and grant would pull up in his 60 thousand dollar vehicles him and his wife grant and his wife also went on a weeks cruise overseas when I stayed there for 3 days I couldn't handle anymore so I got out I am blessed today and I do also donate and give back but not to this place shut the haven of mercy down they are some good people that work there but alot of drug sales go on and alot of illegal activity drugs being thrown over fence God bless it does get better.

They helped me with finding resources and sent me an amazing mental health kit. Can't thank them enough

I work for an assisted living community and some of our residents have animals. We had an resident that needed to get her boy dog neutered and she is on fixed income. I reached out to Jurnee and she was more than willing to help our sweet resident out. Our resident and her dog are very appreciative of what this foundation did for them both!

JEB Foundation truly achieves what it has set out to do. Older ones can feel their respect or self-worth they deserve diminish over time. But JEB Foundation is giving them that honor back, whether it be through getting our younger generation involved or using safe, innovative ways to combat depression and isolation. Their outreach to the community is admirable and the positive effect will be felt for many years to come.

I first got involved with Appalachia Service Project as a youth volunteer, and went on to work for them full-time. ASP gives real, tangible ways to live our your faith and serve others through home repair. ASP stands by their work and will make sure that all applicants are satisfied; something I've seen time and time again over the years. There are great ways to serve during a summer mission trip, or throughout the year in fall/spring break. ASP provides emergency home repair, home replacement, and disaster recovery - having built well over 150 homes in the last decade! Would highly recommend.

Wow, ARCH is the FIRST place the homeless should go when needing assistance. ARCH is an outstanding organization that goes far beyond providing food and housing. They are truly a grassroots outreach organization that serves the depths of the Tri-Cities, creating a sustainable future for anyone who walks through their doors.

Almost a decade ago I became a member, donor and volunteer with Cherokee Forest Voices. I like their spunk and unwavering enthusiasm that effectively protects this big special place that I call home. <br> <br>Current public land management practices, most notably clear cutting and road construction pose a serious threat to regional biological diversity by destroying habitat, causing forest fragmentation, and degrading water quality. <br> <br>The Cherokee National Forest, escaped glaciation during the last Ice Age, so these forested mountain ranges have harbored plant and animal life continuously for as long as 200 million years longer than any other region in the United States. <br> <br>Well worth protecting, The Cherokee National Forest includes remote areas as wild and remote as any and some of the most isolated and non-fragmented lands in the eastern US. It is the contiguous companion to the Great Smoky National Park, and is home to more than 2,000 plants and animals. <br> <br>Tennessee’s only National Forest, the Cherokee encompasses 640,000 acres and stretches from Chattanooga along the North Carolina border to Bristol along the Virginia boarder. It is the largest tract of public land in Tennessee and well worth protecting. <br> <br> <br>

This organization came to my son's school and gave a very informative talk on STDs and realities that come with sexual contact. Their talk has caused my son to remain a virgin, and he is now 18, and thank God, is not a father at his young age! The talk on STDs from this organization made my son look at sex, as more than a casual "hip" thing to do. Sadly, our society, especially our younger folks, have turned sex into nothing more than a fling or "hooking up" with whoever, or as many as possible, just because you can. Boys To Men helped explain to my son's classmates that there are severe consequesences that can come with casual sex. Thank you for speaking the truth to our youth! There is NO such thing as safe sex; and I am grateful to this organization for teaching the truth!

Formerly a twelve-room boarding house in Johnson City, Tennessee, The Manna House has been converted into 21 rooms of safe and affordable transitional housing for homeless men focused on improving their current situation and therein their life. All of the residents were chronically homeless, according to HUD's definition, and generally have addiction, legal problems and mental health issues. Because the residents of The Manna House have accepted the powerlessness of their addictions and have made the conscious decision toward recovery, a high level of accountability and security exists at The Manna House. During their two-year program, residents attend twelve-step meetings (e.g., N.A., A.A., Al-Anon, S.A.A.), and there is a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol and drugs. The focus here at The Manna House is to provide a refuge from the storm.
