Mission: Closing the gap in education by working with and through other non-profits, institutions, charter, private, and public schools by providing motivational and inspirational outreach programs to students. Exposing children to cultural and social events, current affairs and concerns, while focusing on the hearts and will of the children more than the GPA or IQ. Serving ALL children, especially the disadvantaged, underserved, or disabled.
Results: HOPE began in 2014 with "Extension of HOPE" featuring the KY Ballet @ the REX Theatre in Pensacola. Over 700 children from 5 area schools were bused to the REX Theatre. They watched a Ballet performance, participated in small hands-on workshops, and included an edu package for the teachers, in order to follow up with their scholars to provide continuing education in the classroom.
Target demographics: giving students the desire and will to learn and stay in school
Direct beneficiaries per year: Establish a homeless shelter
Geographic areas served: Pensacola FL
Programs: Arts programs, environmental awareness and advocacy, social and cultural outreach programs, education, and community events
There are not many places that care or understand that knowledge is power, and our future begins with our children and their education. Inspiring the desire and will to learn is as important as content of education and is necessary to continue growth, development, self-confidence, and a sense of importance.
Lila works hard to make the world better by sharing with others to bring the Kentucky Ballet to under privileged kids who would have never been exposed to something like that . Kudos !
Being able to have worked with this organization was such an incredible experience. The Kentucky Ballet Theatre partnered with the HOPE organization and together we worked with many kids from the surrounding area, not only giving them the opportunity to see professional ballet, but a chance to learn some ballet as well. What a fantastic organization, very proud to have been a part of it and look forward to collaborating again soon!
What an incredible spirit of HOPE this brings to the community. The passion and excitement for learning in a non-traditional format brings the arts to children in a community that would not have had an enriching experience like this one. The look in the children's eyes said it all.
What a fabulous idea to help young people! Having someone like Lila Davidson be behind it ensures it will be run with passion and perfection. Maybe if nonprofits like HOPE had been in our area ten years ago, my 25 year old daughter might still be alive. Thank you for your vision and your energy!
The H.O.P.E. Foundation is a wonderful organization, and I am so glad that Northwest Florida now has a charity in the area that recognizes the need to provide children the opportunity to experience educational programs that they may not ever otherwise experience. I've witnessed firsthand the passion that its founder, Lila, has for the H.O.P.E. Foundation's mission, and I look forward to seeing the benefits both in the local children through H.O.P.E.'s outreach programs and in the community at large moving forward!
