I have volunteered for them off and on since 2012 and can attest to just how many people they help and the compassion in which they do it. Jennifer is amazing and truly cares about the community. Special gifts go out to those that receive meals when it’s their birthday and it makes their day! They will connect those in need with the services they could benefit from. It’s a wonderful organization.
The people that work there are very pleasant. Routes and packing is extremely organized. It’s a great way to help the community and offers a way to help feel better about yourself for doing some good for others.
Their goal is to help the least of those among us! They are feeding the disabled, the widowed, and the hurting!
I have been delivering for MOW for almost three years. The people are always pleasant. The food is always hot and smells great. The clients are so appreciative, and they always say so.
I have been involved as a volunteer for more years than I can remember. Cherokee County Meals On Wheels is led by a small group of very caring, serving, giving ladies. The service they provide to the elderly and homebound is priceless. I hope to serve as a volunteer for many, many more years.
One of the best organizations I’ve ever volunteered for. Every aspect of this non-profit is professional and compassionate. Clients and their loved ones, volunteers and paid staff are all like family. I would recommend both those who wish to help volunteer and for families in needed of this service to not hesitate to sign up.
Cherokee County MOW is a great volunteer opportunity. The staff is very organized and it makes for an easy experience whether it be your first route or your 100th! I look forward to being able to volunteer again in the future.
I volunteered for years while working full time (during lunch) and continued till recently after retiring delivering meals. What a wonderful dedicate group of folks serving people who need a hot meal. Seeing the happy faces while delivering, they were so appreciative to get them. Meals on wheels don’t stop there. They supply food for there pets. Prepare holiday gift bags for many holidays and a bad weather bag full of groceries. They do so much I can’t list all. Just know the money they receive is used very wisely. You won’t regret donating to this caring nonprofit organization.
Such a well run and much needed part of our community. In my time as a volunteer I've learned how much hard work and time goes into keeping those in need fed in our area. There are many who rely on Cherokee County MOW and I am thankful for the opportunity to give back.
They help people get meals they might not get or eat. Plus it helps bye checking on the clients that receive them to make sure they are okay
I became a volunteer 28 years ago with my 4 year old daughter. We had a wonderful experience. Now I can share this experience with my grandchildren. We realize how Meals On Wheels impacts the community in a huge way. People would go hungry with out the Meals On Wheels program. They do a fantastic job!
Having worked there in the past, I was impressed with the caring that went into everything they did. The attention to detail about what the clients needs were to the nutritional value of the food. The kitchen was always clean and orderly as well as orchestrated to operate efficiently and at the same time keeping cleanliness and germ free. I wish all organizations were so dedicated.
I started volunteering with CCMOW around thanksgiving of 2019 for route #13 on Friday’s. I absolutely adore this organization and the clients I get to visit with almost every single Friday. I’m a stay at home mom and I was looking for something to do to kill time, give back to the community and teach my children a lesson to serve others. When the pandemic hit I was afraid that it was going to impact my volunteering in a negative way, but it hasn’t, I have offered to even pick up an extra route during the week whether it be mine or someone else’s and handled it! I have struggled with the depression and blues when the pandemic hit because my family did our part to stay in as much as possible, being able to get out and volunteer has helped my mental health with being able to see and check on my favorite people. I don’t know what I would have done had I not been given the opportunity to continue to deliver during this trying time in 2020. I love my route 13 and the MOW family who have become friends and family on a personal level! - Jasmine Johnson
