Causes: Economic Development, Financial Counseling, Homeless & Housing, Human Services, Microfinance, Rural Economic Development, Senior Citizens Housing & Retirement Communities, Seniors, Urban & Community Economic Development
Mission: Interfaith Housing Alliance strengthens communities by providing affordable housing opportunities and supportive services to improve the quality of life and economic stability for seniors, working families and individuals.
Results: Nearly 1,400 housing units have been created or renovated and tens of thousands of low income households have benefited from IHA's services.
Target demographics: Low income families, seniors and individuals achieve housing and financial stability
Direct beneficiaries per year: On average, IHA creates 50 new homebuyer opportunities and serves several hundred rental housing opportunities per year.
Geographic areas served: Maryland & Pennsylvania
Programs: IHA offers affordable homeownership opportunities to first time buyers, safe and decent housing for low income families and affordable communities for seniors on fixed incomes. Financial stability is key to housing stability so IHA offers workshops and one-to-one counseling to its residents and the community at large as well.
