Hi my name is Sara and I am one of the 5 cofounders. Mama Bears Fighting Childhood Cancer was started while our kids were all fighting their battles. After coming together on the hospital floor, we knew caregivers needed this kind of support. With each other side by side, we grew stronger and so did our kids. Today, we serve all the NorCal pediatric cancer treating hospitals with our hospital survival wagons, clinic carts as well as offering our 24/7 private caregiver support group! Together we walk beside each other through the good, bad and ugly. Together we are stronger one day at a time!

I want to begin with a big THANK YOU! I have not been to this wonderful Clubhouse but I've had RSD/CRPS since 1998 and wish we had this on the East Coast...I'm in CT. It would be wonderful but I would not be able to partake in the infusions because I'm on Medicaid, which is so unfortunate because I know they work...when I had a hysterectomy a few yrs ago, I was in the ICU for 1 week getting ketamine infusions because I was wracked with RSD pain post-operatively. So it's a big problem...I'm stuck using Fentanyl patches, since 1998, unless Medicaid agrees to the infusions...that doesn't make sense to me...I thought they wanted everyone off the opiates! I'm more than willing but they won't pay for it....God Bless everyone on this thread...I know how horrible it is to live with this disease. Take good care of yourselves...

I purchased my service dog in training Boone from BEST Service dogs and the experience has surpassed expectations. I've been a volunteer and board member of The SHARE Institute for six years and think very highly of it. It's a wonderful small organization based in the Sacramento area. SHARE's president and cofounder, Dr. Soheir Stolba, is a professor at American River College, a medical anthropologist with 30 years of experience in maternal/health, family planning and reproductive health consulting organizations. The group sponsors small fund-raising events to provide mini-grants and loans (up to $500) to both international and local organizations to promote the well-being of children and families.

I had the pleasure of staying in the CRPS Clubhouse while receiving Ketamine Infusions. I had Dawn as my caretaker each night, who was able to comfort me after my painful portacath placement and use relaxation techniques to help me with painful symptoms of my CRPS.
