I have worked with the organizers of action alliance several times in setting up apartments for refugees. The love and attention given to each setup is incomparable. Not only are they trying to give these families the essentials of life, they're trying to make it feel like a home for those that have none. It is truly beautiful. Each time I make donations of household goods, I know they are going directly to the people that need them most desperately. So encouraging to see an organization where 100% for all the donations of items, money, and time go directly to the cause being supported. No one is taking anything for themselves. Such an inspiration!

PLEASE HELP THE IMPOVERISHED NEPALI POPULATION EMERGE FROM POVERTY THROUGH ACCESS TO KNOWLEDGE!<br> <br>I am writing on behalf of Nepal Journey , a 501c3 Dallas-based organization established in 2015 to help distressed communities worldwide through projects and programs that will help them emerge from poverty and gain economic stability. We envision that our efforts will begin a groundswell of change on a grassroots level that will begin to transform the lives of entire populations.<br>One of our key projects is creating a multi-purpose, disability accessible, public library in Nepal where library resources are meager. Nepal is one of the poorest countries with approximately 25% of the country’s people living below the poverty line. Nepal has experienced over 70 civil wars since 1945; the government is known for being corrupt; five million people are undernourished; child mortality rates are exceptionally high; unemployment rates hover around 2.74 percent; and there is a pervasive prevalence of disease.<br>In addition, the country has been plagued by catastrophic natural disasters. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2005 claimed over 8000 lives in Nepal and caused widespread damage. Even before the earthquake, illiteracy and limited access to information have affect the lives of both urban and rural communities. For those who are disabled, access has been an impossibility.<br>The current lack of government support for libraries in Nepal reflects a lack of recognition of the part that libraries can play in promoting literacy. Studies show that any long-term vision for economic development needs to include literacy as a priority. Some studies suggest that about 43% of Nepalese adults (age 15+) lack basic skills to read and write in the Nepali language. Worldwide, public libraries have been offering free services that promote and develop literacy.<br>There needs to be that type of resource in Nepal, and with your help, it can become a reality!<br>In addition to books and publications, our library will offer many other amenities, including a conference room, computer lab, cafeteria, training areas, literacy programs, a meditation room, a children’s section, and e-book access. We will also have designated areas for the visually and hearing impaired and for those confined to wheelchairs.<br>We are trying to raise $140,000 out of $200,000 to begin the building process. We have already raised $60,000. We have a clear vision of what we hope to accomplish and our project plan is solid. We have reached out to foundations and corporations for their help through charitable contributions, but we know that donations from individuals like you will emerge as a critical pillar of support. This amazing group of ladies selects our nonprofit Foundation For C.H.O.I.C.E. as their partner nonprofit in 2018, and we could not have been more honored to work alongside these amazing people. They volunteered at a few of our events and were always on hand to provide support. This is an excellent organization, not only providing each other support and time, but also dedicating their time and resources to the community.

while at the Price Daniel Unit I was able to be apart of the love that JTC X-Change founder E Wilson and his team shows it makes those of us who are thinking that no one cares and what really blew me away was the fact that he writes us hand written letters and the messages he shares not only encourages us, but gives is hope for the future and truly thank God that i had the chance to meet him and True story and the Williams and we feel the love in my stomach when i was able to partake of the goodies that they brought with a message that even though we are locked up there are people who care and love us and as it's said if you gonna have a conversation make it a good one. In my opinion, this organization and its principal officer and housing director are the most unethical and dispecible I've ever come across. They lie just to hurt those they claim to help. They illegally and maliciously lie at a drop if a hat. They have verbably, emotionally and physically assaulted vulnerable senior citizen that they claim to help andbthink nothing of making them homeless. They need to be investigated for fraud from a number of gov agencies.

I had an incredible time in the Peruvian Amazon jungle! I worked there for two weeks and had a great time replanting trees, helping teach local kids, using a machete to maintain trails, and other important jobs! I would definitely recommend this program to any who are interested in volunteering abroad. Just be prepared for jungle life, which includes sweating and lots of bugs. You can also practice your Spanish here if you make friends with the right people and the natives. All-in-all, this was a memorable and unforgettable experience for me! <br>Program: <br>
