Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Domestic Violence, Family Violence Shelters, Homeless & Housing
Mission: Our mission is to assist families who experience, or are threatened with domestic violence and to increase the community’s awareness of this pervasive problem.
Target demographics: families affected by domestic violence
Direct beneficiaries per year: 123 adults and 118 children receive safe housing in our shelter, food, clothing, and basic necessities.
Geographic areas served: Broome County
Programs: Short-term emergency housing, food, counseling, a twenty-four hour crisis hotline and other support for women, men and children in need as a result of domestic violence. A non-residence component provides advocacy, counseling, and information and referral services to domestic violence victims who either do not need or do not want shelter services and promotes community awareness of domestic violence issues.
