Skip To My Lupus, Inc has been active in the South Carolina and Georgia region for more than 10 years. One of the most impressive things about this organization is that it is run by those who actually suffer from the autoimmune disease, so they have a first hand knowledge and understanding of some of the effects that the disease causes. Additionally, despite their pains and struggles, they chose to serve their fellow Lupies with compassion. Skip To My Lupus, Inc. has brought awareness to Lupus through so many visible activities, so include politicians, professional sports, and local celebrities. I salute their continued dedication to bringing awareness to the disease and compassion to those who suffer from it.

This organization has been growing over the last 10 years providing support through information on this disorder and showing genuine compassion for those suffering with this chameleon-like disease that attacks in many forms. I am happy to say that my niece, who has been battling Lupus for more than 12 years has gained a wealth of support through this organization and is doing well because someone cared enough to provide her with information of obtaining medical and financial support, and the satisfaction of knowing there are people who love her and want her to live her life to the fullest despite her condition. Thank you so much Skip To My Lupus!
Tamara Raja and her staff are more wonderful than words can express. When they were in Augusta, Ga. they would come and talk to the students about Lupus and on career day they would cone and ate up a table to give away information to students and parents about Lupus and it's warning signs. I know of several parents, including a couple family members of mine who were screened and diagnosed because of the information shared. This organization's may have saved some lives. They also helped many once diagnosed. One student stands out. She was in 8th grade and had lupus for about 5 years. Tamara met her on one of her trips to my school and had the chance to sit and talk to her one on one. That young lady is about to graduate college now, and Tamara has followed and helped this young lady all the way. That is the type of love and care they provide. I, thank goodness, was not found positive for Lupus, but I do have kidney disease and diabetes that require dialysis and insulin. This organization has even helped me at times with medication. Tamara has come to the hospital in Augusta personally, on several occasions, when I was hospitalized to assure I was doing well. A couple of times she had to be my advocate and get on my doctors and nursing team about my care. When I am able, I volunteer a little and a little financial donations and feel it not robbery because they have done so much more for me! Her home, her heart, all have open doors. I thank God for this family of loving people. All with their own ailments and issues, but still enough love love, concern and compassion to take on other's as well. God's continued grace and blessings to my Skip-to-my-Lupus family. I love and thank you more than words can say! And on behalf of the Richmond Co. School System and Sego Middle School students, parents, faculty and staff...we thank you!

The organization's educational seminars and social media engagements have provided a community for hundreds of people living with lupus.
