We are a very small group of like minded people who's only connection is our love of animals and a desire to make their lives better. We work very hard with very few resources to help as many animals as we can. One of the most rewarding things I've ever done in my life is foster needy animals. What a feeling! To know that you literally saved that animal from abuse or neglect, socialized them, showed them love and patience until the perfect forever home comes along to give them the best life they can have. Yes, sometimes it is difficult to let them go, but you know that once they're placed, you can open your home and arms to another needy animal! We desperately need new foster homes. Whether you do it once or 100 times, it will change your life and I can't recommend it enough. You don't need any prior experience, just a love of animals and a desire to help them. We'll teach you everything else you need to know. Please consider saving a life - you'll never be the same again!

Mission: The mission of Desoto Animal Rescue Society is to be a voice for the voiceless animals, giving them a better quality of life through foster care, adoption, pet overpopulation education, humane education and higher ideals of humanity towards all animals.
Results: DARS has been saving needy animals since 2005, fostering, rehabilitating and adopting out countless pets to loving, forever homes. We rely solely on donations from the public, fundraiser sponsorships and a few small grants.

Direct beneficiaries per year: over 100 cats and dogs
