Commerce City Nonprofits and Charities

A14EF is a great nonprofit, delivering much needed support to an underfunded and marginalized school district. (I am a board member, have been for 6+ years now.) We fund mini-grants, over the years this has meant microscopes for science labs, instructional software teachers asked for, gap funding for a field trip, etc. We also fund scholarships, and while $2K or $3K doesn't fund a complete college education, we are able to provide that level of support for four years to approx 80 students at a time, 20+ every graduating class. The stories we hear at scholarship interviews would break your heart. The first interview I ever did, I sat down and the first packet said "Household Income: $4,200" and I asked "Is this monthly income or annual?" That was the student's entire annual income. And she was super qualified for college. (In that case, no parents, living with Grandma, only her income counts to her household, per FAFSA.) Every year we turn away beautiful and intelligent young people doing everything, or at least many, many things, right. The way they're supposed to. I am a veteran under the program, I am so glad that Beethoven's Rescue reached out to me. Director is great, she is also in a veteran who understands our needs. Great communication and great community outreach.

My experience on this shelter, I feel this facility need to be investigated, from what I am hearing I am not the first one that had a bad experience at this facility, while some days were good some were not. When you think of someone being in imminent danger what does this really mean. When you are going through an already domestic violent situation do you want to go somewhere that add to the verbal, mental, emotional, and psychological damage I don't think so. Years before going to this shelter my ex had a couple of people stalking and following me. After going to the shelter I recognized Amanda and Mariah as two that were in this group along with Dejaree Rivera who they called jeree the daughter of Thea Rivera, a case worker who had aided Mr. Shelton in the loss of my apartment in Elpaso Colorado, the reason why I had to turn back to him in the first place. The attached letter speak of confidentiality in which mine was broken number one these ladies let Larissa Know my where abouts, as per conversation I heard between she and a couple of the ladies and she is the sister to my ex's friend Glenn Washington who made a statement he was going to kill me, when I was driving for RTD. This put me in danger so yes I did the photo to alert police the day she was walking out the door, this means she was not longer a resident her stay was ended and her intentions for me was not good. Nowhere in the contract did it speak of taking photos of yourself. During my stay I was also targeted by staff in group discussions regarding some of the things that Miss Amanda and Mariah had done to me prior to them coming to the shelter, I in fact did not think this was a laughing matter to affect someone’s life the way these two and my ex had done. The duo's actions did not stop being in the shelter I had to file a report because their behavior got worse once time went on. The financial crimes, displacement, stalking and more. I had to alert staff of the filing because the detective told me with this being a safe house it is proper procedure to do so before they can talk to them, and I wanted them to talk to them to get these issues resolved so the statement in this letter is untrue.

Compassion 4 Kids International, Inc does not subsidize children in poor families although other charities do. The seek out Invisible Street Children, one-by-one, to rescue them from a life of dispare, sexually abused, or physically abuse and at times end in death. They seek out girls that are forced into sexual abuse and prostitution from age 8 and older. They receive a family home to be safe along with clothing, food, school education, and medical needs met .... oh yes ... lots of love that is totally missing from their present life style.
