I have volunteered to help with several non-profit organizations, but have found Big Brothers Big Sisters to be the most rewarding. I was a "Big Sister" for six years, until my "Little Sister" graduated from high school. Today I volunteer on the board of directors and work to raise funds for the organization. Influencing and changing the life a young person for the better is monumental.
I have been with Haley since she was 10 yrs old. She wasn't doing well in school and only had a few friends. She is now 17 yrs old, a senior and excelling in school while also in her 2nd year of Food Management at the CTC. She has numerous friends, the captain of the flag guard and busy with other school programs. Haley has come out of her shell and is motivated to succeed. She will be attending the Baker College for their culinary program next fall. I'm so proud of all of her!
Excellent team! Amazingly dedicated director!
They do all they can to defend the potential of every young person they work with!

I have sat on many Boards throughout the years, but BBBS Gladwin/Clare County has been the most enlightening experience. Our Board, and Director Carol Gage, go above and beyond to do what it takes to serve our community. Support BBBS and the volunteers by attending our events, making donations, or giving your time.

Mid Michigan Big Brothers & Big Sisters is an organization that truly cares about our youth and the community. There are many matches that have lasted for years and have truly changed the lives of these young people. There are also new matches happening regularly. The other great thing about this is that the "Bigs" seem to really get great enjoyment and satisfaction from the activities and mentoring they are able to provide. Without them most of these youth would not have these opportunities.
