Mission: The Cherokee Center for Family Services is a department of the Cherokee Boys Club, Inc., a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation and instrumentality of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, a federally recognized tribe. We are the primary source of family support services on the reservation. programs: The Cherokee Center for Family Services operates four major divisions. These are: (1) Family Support Services, providing emergency assistance to families, an adolescent parenting program, casework services and Indian Child Welfare Act casework. (2) Cherokee Challenge, an adventure and community service based drug abuse and violence prevention program for Indian youth. (3) White Path Center, a residential children's home serving children placed by county Department of Social Services, Juvenile Services and the local youth treatment center. WPC has an Emergency Shelter and Long-Term Care, with a state licensed capacity of 22. (4) Childcare Division operates 3 childcare centers on the reservation providing care for children age birth to 12. Currently our centers are state licensed to serve over 200 children.
