Healthy Kids Running Series (EIN 80-0779739) is listed in the wrong category here (animals/zoos/aquariums) - that should be fixed. It's a kids running program based out of PA but there are locations throughout the U.S. run by contracted coordinators. Leadership has drastically changed over the last year and we found a news story about possible embezzlement that has not been addressed. They answer no questions about whether money is missing and they have yet to share their 2021 financials. The "president" who took over for his brother (who took a mysterious "sabbatical" with no explanation last fall and is now not returning) is the only listed person on the board. When asked, he gave 2 other names who are both affiliated with another non-profit organization (Amoveo Group). Bottom line is I don't trust what is happening with the money at HKRS, especially over the last year. <br><br>There had previously been an advisory board made up of coordinators, but that was disbanded, as well. HKRS went well over a year with no board of directors, advisory board, and essentially zero accountability or transparency with those of us who work hardest to keep them afloat. <br><br>One other thing that has bothered me is that without explanation, they removed "Family First" from their Values Statement. Communities deserve an explanation of when values are changed in a non-profit and how/why that decision was made.

Commenting on the second review …Dylan was the puppy we fostered for IDI!! He was with us from 8 weeks until 9 months. Have been looking for information on them and came across this and cried when I saw the review for our Dylan. This non profit 501C dates back to 1971, and will have 50 years of service in 2021. Box 202, Chadds Ford, Pa 19317, Phone 610-459-3342 <br>This historic site of the American Revolutionary War, on September 11, 1777,, was the largest land battle of the war, covering 35,000 acres. The association has changed hands in leadership and volunteers associates throughout its existence but has provided consistent leadership, stewardship, mentor-ship, and caretaking of its assets. I have had the privilege and experience of 20 years service with this organization , and, am a source of reference of their dedication and focus during both good periods and hardship periods as are many residents living in the area. The site, of course, is owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission(PHMC), Harrisburg, Pa but, receives no funding or assistance financially, and, is entirely dependent on donations, volunteerism, and membership. This is truly a unique and great non profit!

Valerie and her critters came to visit our classroom today and it was such a great experience for our students who have intellectual disabilities. She took the time to introduce each bird, bunny, or turtle and explained each to our class. It was so much more beneficial for the students to be up close and personal with them in our classroom setting. Thank you, Valerie!
