Beautiful Brokenness is the real deal. They do an amazing job of rescuing horses and helping to heal hurting people through interaction with the horses and with Katy herself.

Beautiful Brokenness is a fantastic ministry. The healing power of horses is well-known. But, combine that with the hope of the gospel, and you have the power to truly transform and heal hearts. I have learned so much from Katy and her way of demonstrating God’s love for us by showing her love for horses. My relationship with both God and my own horse has grown exponentially because of this ministry.

We are so grateful for this ministry. Our special-needs son has benefitted enormously. Praise God!

I am full of gratitude for this ministry. Katy is used by the Lord to be His hands and feet on the ground helping my son and me. I was introduced to Katy with Beautiful Brokenness about 9 years ago. Through darkness, death and illness, Katy has consistently and relentlessly encouraged me to look to Jesus, our Hope and Healer! Not only has my relationship with Jesus grown, but also the relationship I have with my horse has been transformed as well. She has educated me in the ways of Natural Horsemanship which so beautifully mirror our walk with Jesus in this world. I am blessed to be connected with Katy and Beautiful Brokenness.

I have loved getting to know Katy and learning about Equine Assisted Discipleship. It has been such a blessing in my life to see the Lord working thru horses!

My journey with Katy began about 10 years ago, every step a miracle. Seeing how she walks with Jesus is one of the most profound and powerful experiences in my life. She invites us all to walk with them. The Love and Light are beautiful. Won't you join us?

Had a wonderful experience with Katy when she came to our barn to teach a clinic on horsemanship. She taught us how to work with our horses from a new and loving perspective. But most importantly, she demonstrated the many ways our horses paint a beautiful picture of our relationship with Christ. A truly amazing clinic and we hope and pray she can come see us again!

Katy’s ministry is truly a blessing. She is a God fearing woman who loves the Lord. She reflects Jesus in her seminars and you definitely walk away with knowing Christ even deeper. She stresses the importance of having a Christ centered life and how much He desires us to have that relationship with Him. Beautiful Brokenness is a beautiful blessing!!! Last year I shared my experiences with Katy's beautiful ministry of Rescue, Redemption, and Reconciliation of horses and how that is a metaphor showing how Jesus rescues, redeems and reconciles us with the Father. And how being around these wonderful creatures opens our hearts to God's love and healing. I wrote of Koa, a horse rescued by Officers Christian Fellowship, White Sulphur Springs became my friend and partner at White Sulphur Springs (WSS) when I visited them annually. Koa is now 22 years old, quite old for a Belgian Draft. This past year Koa has lost weight and his sense of purpose. He wasn't eating right. Their vet recommended putting him down, rather than let him suffer. WSS knew my relationship with Koa and let me know. I shared with Katy my distress at my loss of my dear friend Koa. I felt the LORD telling me not to grieve; that He would take care of Koa. About a week later I learned that WSS was bringing Koa to Katy's Ministry, because Katy knows horse secrets. She knows how to care for older horses like no one else. (Katy lost her friend Dreamsickle in his 51st year of life during that cold winter of 2022.) Koa arrived at Katy's two days before he was scheduled to be put down, Aug. 14, 2023. He was down to 1325 pounds. Katy has fed him special grains and some Gut-X to help him if he had ulcers. After a month, he has gained almost 200 pounds. He is very content. He's got a sweet colt as a pasture mate and he's teaching the colt, Rain, how to be a good horse. Koa and I are thriving in the glow of God's love, thanks to Katy's amazing ability to care for and love horses. Katy, through her program of Equine Assisted Discipleship, is teaching me how to communicate with Koa in his language. As he and I work and play together, we grow closer. He trusts me. I cannot adequately describe the love and JOY I feel being with Koa. Thank You, LORD for the blessing of Koa and thank you, Katy for healing my dear friend.

Presentation was excellent, message was spot on. I will continue to actively be involved in the Beautiful Brokenness program.

Katie has a dynamic growing ministry committed to assisting Christ’s Love transform others lives. Horses become conduits for healing broken hearts and minds.

I want to tell my story . Being broken from a failing marriage . Really feeling my world was ending . Katy would show me how to Allow God to be in control and let God drive my life not Emotion sorrow and pain. The word Faith is (First Allow It to Happen . That means let Go and Let God drive . It is hard when the forces come at you . We want to grab the wheel , we must trust the Process. Horses teach us that ! Trust is everything . Thank You Katy for all you do ❤️

Katy is the picture of the transforming power of grace. Working with her horse Scooter offers people a visible picture of invisible trust. She helps people see with their eyes so they can believe with their hearts. I can't recommend this ministry enough. Grace changes everything and Katy shares God's grace generously. Her work is transforming lives.

Three of my five children have severe autism. I learned of Beautiful Brokenness through a ministry for special needs adults. My son, Matthew, loved the horses right away. Though we have animals at home, there is something very special about Katy and her horses that Matthew “made a connection with”. Matthew became “The Muck Manager”. Katy let us come out every week and see the horses and help clean the stalls in the barn. Matthew began telling people it was “his work”. He has very limited expressive language. However, each week he woke before dawn and had himself ready to go hours before we were scheduled to go. Katy is able to communicate God’s love to Matthew and others in such an amazing way without using words! After Matt had been so impacted by this ministry, my other children wanted to be involved. Jesse, who has autism and is wheelchair bound, Hallie, who has autism, and Hannah also began “helping Ms. Katy” in the barn. My family has been involved with Beautiful Brokenness for several years. We have been so blessed by Katy and her horses. They have provided a sense of belonging and usefulness for Matthew and acceptance for Jesse and Hallie. We are so grateful for the time we have spent there!

Katy walked, and is walking, with me through a very challenging season in my life. She continuously speaks Truth and Life into all of it and points me to seek Him. In becoming more and more convinced about who I am and who He is, my life has become more characterized by the fruits of the spirit. Katy's love for Jesus and for others radiates in all she does!

I've known and supported Katy's ministry for years. Her relationship with her pony, Scooter is amazing and a beautiful illustration of how God wants us to trust Him to love and protect us. Katy is a gifted horsewoman and teacher. I highly recommend supporting her ministry especially as God is on the verge of expanding her reach to minister to so many more hurting people. I have worked with Katy through our church ministry for adult special needs friends. Katy has provided our friends with a peaceful and spiritual experience through her horses. Each visit has brought a more calming interaction between our friends and Katy's horses. God has certainly been involved in each experience our friends have been blessed to have had with Katy and the horses. Watching the interactions is definitely a beautiful, inspiring blessing. Thank you Katy for your dedicated and spiritual approach to healing.

I have known, admired and respected Katy for ten years or more. It was only recently that I had the opportunity to watch her ministry presentation, and it was even more than I hoped. Her knowledge of the gospel, her tremendous understanding of God’s love, and the beauty of her interaction with horses as a way of conveying all of that was truly amazing. I was captivated. In about an hour of presentation, I marveled at how the gift of God came together in and through Katy. And now I want everyone to see and experience who she is and what she does. I’m certain the impact will be moving and lasting.

My husband and I have known Katy for many years and my daughter and I have read quite a few of her wonderful books. But, I really had not realized the impact of her whole ministry until, in August of this year, we were able to visit her and see a presentation with one of her horses. I was so touched and simply amazed at how powerfully I was able to see God’s Heart for me personally. I am sure Katy has an incredible impact in the lives of anyone who comes her way, especially young girls and women who need to be reminded of or convinced that God truly values them and has great purpose for their lives. It all began with a vision God placed on my heart about a horse farm. I was connected to Katy. Just so happened one of my board members had the book Jubilee written by Katy. She sent the book my way and said let’s get her to come speak for our fundraising dinner. I’m not much on reading all the way through a book. But- Jubilee was one of those I did not want to put down. I stayed up most of the night until I finished the book. We then invited Katy down to speak for our dinner. She did a beautiful job, not only is she a great author, but she is a great speaker as well. Katy Pistole is a talented woman of God and her love for Jesus was evident.
Katy got home and sent me a copy of Palomino from the Sonrise series. I was heading for Nicaragua and couldn’t put the book down- I read it on my flight and couldn’t wait to share it. I was able to let two missionary children read it. They both enjoyed the book and can’t wait to get the next book in their hands and are asking for a horse.

Arrived back from Nicaragua and went to dinner with my daughter and her family. My granddaughter Isabella doesn’t normally read much- however, I couldn’t wait to get Palomino in her hands. She picked up the book and didn’t want to put it down.
We can’t wait to order the other books from the Sonríse series. I highly recommend this book for tweens- but as an adult age 60. I can’t wait to read the rest of the Sonrise series!!

Katie is a gifted counselor and teacher. She has helped my husband and I with some family issues and gave very good support and advice.
She also was a facilitator for the study "Journey Tools" which was an intense workbook and video experience that truly impacted us spiritually and emotionally. Katie is an important part of our lives and has enriched us.

After seeing and experiencing "The Dance" it left me in awe of the beautiful, trusting relationship between Master and Servant. Katy's ministry is all about how much God loves us and that He can be trusted. He is wanting good and not evil for us. She has taken broken horses, so mistreated, and won their trust and then love by the way she was consistent in her love and care for the animal. She ties in this correlation with God and man. Oh, how He love us!

My niece has absolutely flourished under Katy’s mentoring and loving encouragement. Katy’s gentleness and God-given insight help her connect deeply with those who are hurting. I am thankful that we found Beautiful Brokenness. My daughter has loved horses since she was a little girl. When she started suffering with anxiety, we started looking for ways to try to help her. Katy and Beautiful Brokenness was the perfect fit. Through the guidance of Katy, she has learned a better understanding of who she is in Christ. She is now thriving!

Katy is an amazing woman of God! She is a gifted horsewoman who masterfully integrates natural horsemanship with our walk with God. The result is healing and wholeness for her clients as they give over their grief and pain to God in exchange for His love and grace.

I met Katy Pistole in 2015 when she came to visit a friend's farm. We have been friends and colleagues ever since. She is an amazing writer, a wonderful counselor with a healing heart for people and a strong abiding love for God. I haven’t met Katy in person, but I met her through a great friend! Katy has been a great person to me she’s helped me even though we don’t talk much it means a lot that i have someone like Katy to always talk to when something is wrong! Also her videos she does online have made a change to my life it makes me think of the good in days and putting the bad days away and opening up to more people than i usually do! just a big thank you to Katy!!

This past year has been simply amazing with Katy. She has helped me learn where my true identity comes from in a way that makes sense to me. She has also taught me, by using a horse, what my relationship should look like between Jesus and myself. Put these two things together and my life has been changed forever! I had battled with depression, poor self image, rejection issues, abuse, suicidal thoughts and more, but changing my thinking and focusing who I belong to and how much He loves me and what He has done for me has freed me from those heavy burdens. We first met Katy seven years ago when our then-6-year-old daughter finally got to act on her love of horses with lessons in natural horsemanship from Katy and her assistant, a very sweet mare named Whitestar.

Katy's instruction is wonderful: patient, intuitive and geared to her student's 'place' in understanding horses and how they communicate. It has not only increased our daughter's confidence in her own horsemanship, but has also given her valuable insights on communicating with people and the traits of good leadership, whether dealing with horses or human beings.

Additionally, Katy's horse analogies for one's Christian walk are also succinct and meaningful.

I once heard a quote that said “If you can’t explain something in simple terms, you don’t understand it well enough”.

Katy has such a gift for explaining in simple terms what a true relationship with Jesus is. Time with her and her ministry will deepen your understanding of what it means to be a child of God, whether you have spent decades in the faith, or mere days.

My fiancée and I were seeing Katy for Christ-centered premarital counseling, and I can not recommend her enough to anyone and everyone who is interested in this kind of counseling.

Katy and Scooter are the epitome of Gods Grace and what He has to offer each and every one of us.
The relationship between God, human and animal are humbly exhibited in this program.

There aren't enough stars to fully rate Beautiful Brokenness Ministries. I love how Katy uses rescued horses in a compassionate, non-judgmental arena to explain human responses to various conditions. Whether her participants are restoring health or building leadership skills, Katy’s prey-predator model provides instant visual clarity that makes perfect sense to all ages. Her method is simple. She listens to our beliefs and offers alternative points of view that are easy to adopt and apply. All along the way, she returns us to her once-distressed prey animals, her horses, to demonstrate how revitalization and redemption lead to harmonious relationships – partnerships, really. You can see Katy’s Love and Life in her most recent book Jubilee and her dance with Scooter in the video on her website. I thoroughly enjoy her workshops and clinics, too. Her guidance resonates within me and beyond, and I see precisely the same radiating effects in other participants. Each of us expresses the same sentiment about our transformative experience, “It’s inexplicable!” It’s as if Katy steers with God’s reins.

I've participated in Beautiful Brokenness Ministries in several capacities over the years as a student, participant, and volunteer. Retreats, events, and lessons have changed my life. Katy Pistole, the director and founder, is the best teacher ever and has helped me to further understand my true worth as a beloved child of God, and the peace and freedom that comes with relying on Him. Although I am an older adult, I am aware that her lessons with girls are unique and eye opening for them as they learn about their true worth, and gain confidence and leadership skills. I wish I had Beautiful Brokenness as a young girl! How valuable those lessons are for girls! Much Pain can be prevented, and much joy realized, if those girls put the lessons learned to use, in choosing better life partners! I know of no other ministry that so beautifully demonstrates God's love for us. Many treasure the experience of seeing Katy's dance with her rescued horse Scooter. It is the sweetest metaphor for how God loves us and invites us to dance with him. His love for us is not dependent on our "performance" or behavior, but is always there for us no matter what, providing freedom, comfort, and answers. And if we do choose to dance with Him (as Scooter will dance with Katy), there is nothing more beautiful and satisfying. As I spent time at Beautiful Brokenness, I couldn't help but gain a clearer sense of the sweetness of God's embrace. Katy is wholly ("holy"...pun intended) qualified as a Reverend, author, speaker, counselor, and teacher. I can't say enough about Beautiful Brokenness!

Beautiful Brokenness is a wonderful, God sent ministry. Katy is very gifted and spirit lead in the way she interacted with both people and horses. Beautiful Brokenness offers a life and heart changing picture of the Good Shepherd. I have witnessed several of Katy's events and am always amazed by the connection, trust and love she and Scooter share. When a terminal diagnosis came for the baby I carried, everything I felt that I knew about God came into question. A few weeks before my due date I attended a Beautiful Brokenness retreat and my eyes opened to the beautiful gift of seeing God for who he was, rather than with faulty beliefs as I had before. This tragedy and retreat experience allowed me to begin to truly know my Father. I will forever be grateful for the blessing of Katy and Scooter, her ministry, and God’s hand in showing me who he is through such a beautiful experience!

Amazing demonstration of how much God loves us and cares for us and how it’s hard for us as his children to understand the grace He offers us. We may beat ourselves up and tell ourselves we aren’t worthy, but God shouts love to us and joyfully tells us through his Word that we are redeemed! Just like Katy redeemed Scooter, God redeemed us - already done! We don’t have to do anything! Believe and receive his grace! I loved learning these concepts through Katy’s Beautiful Brokenness ministry. She has a calling from God and He is honoring her work. Amen!!

This ministry has touched my heart and life and the lives of countless others. The picture of the rescuing love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ love is awe inspiring and captivating. Katie and Scooter show how that love can look when our brokenness meets his mercy and amazing grace. We are afforded a ring side seat to see our Great God move and make a message from a mess. It's a mesmerizing exercise in faith rescuing the broken. I am forever grateful for her obedience and willingness to listen with his heart and ears. She is knowledgeable and Spirit-filled and on an anointed journey of ministry.

I've learned so much about Natural Horsemanship through this ministry, and it has really improved my relationship with my little mare, Remy. But the spiritual truths I've experienced in a new way are even more important. I'm a visual learner: through the ministry of Beautiful Brokenness, I've not only learned about Scriptural truths and principles - I've seen them. I've seen the relationship God desires to have with each of His children illustrated through Scooter's relationship with Katy. I've seen the Lord's vast love and tender care for me represented through Katy's affection and care for Scooter. I've learned leadership and relational skills and principles.

Every time I left after spending time with Katy and the horses from Beautiful Brokenness, I had received a new nugget of truth, word of wisdom, or powerful illustration to mull over, meditate on, or ponder. As I told my mom soon after I got involved with the ministry: "Every time Katy opens her mouth, some incredible truth comes out!" God has truly gifted Katy with the ability to recognize and communicate such amazing parallels between our relationships with our horses and His relationship with us.

The ministry's core message of identity - who we are to and in Christ, and who He is to and through us - is so relevant and is sorely needed by today's girls, who are being fed so many lies by our culture! They desperately need the falsehoods they've been believing, about God and themselves, to be broken down by Truth! And when truth is communicated in such a unique way, using those beautiful, majestic creatures that almost all girls are magnetically drawn to, it is doubly effective and can soften even the hardest of hearts.

God has used Beautiful Brokenness to deepen my understanding of and relationship with Him, and I'm excited to see the ministry continue to grow and expand so that it can touch even more lives!

My grand daughter, was broken when she came to live with us. She had been once again rejected by another mom. Her dad was in Iraq fighting a war. Through loving the horse and caring for it, all the anger, hurt, rejection and fear that God would reject her too was lifted. Katie showed her God's unconditional love and acceptance.

I enjoy giving to organizations that share Jesus while helping others. Beautiful Brokenness made it to the seven I support, because I've seen Katy's love for Jesus shine from her as she loves others (and horses) and because I experienced a nudge from God to support her fresh, growing ministry.

Katie and Scooter have the offer the most unique experiences with God possible. Once you see them in action, Beautiful Brokenness is exactly what you are looking for girls and young women to experience learning about God. I love the way that Katie and God interact in everything from rescue, Redemption and Reconciliation. I very special mission that I truly support.

My daughter had the truly unique opportunity to spend time working with Katie in Beautiful Broken Ministries. As time passed I began to see that Katie makes connections in unexpected ways. Her gentle approach with those around her, both human and equine, is disarming in a way that allowed my daughter to grow in ways that I could have never anticipated. What happens at Beautiful Brokenness isn't magic, but it sure feels that way sometimes. It is something that is difficult to explain and can probably only be understood by experiencing Katie's very special message in person.

Katy and Beautiful Brokenness Ministry is top notch. The love of our Lord Jesus and the love of his creations and how Katy's soft tenderness of love is around all that know her. Her horses, Scooter in particular, he was so broken and now he is so precious, trusting, loving to all that meet him. The seminar/clinics where Katy shares her love and knowledge is precious to everyone that attends. She demonstrates such a beautiful picture of healing. I am so grateful to know Katy and witness her ministry with the horses and people. Keep spreading the word Katy!

Little did I know when Katy and I became friends that I would be the recipient of her unique ministry, Beautiful Brokenness! My background isn't much different from then many of you out there, but I can tell you, it was through her ministry that I truly found myself. I experienced healing on a level that no other therapist or councilor I'd ever seen had been able to achieve with me, a lasting healing, one where I for the first time experienced peace that continues to this day! Katy uses the relationship with horses to effectively demonstrate our relationship with our Heavenly Father. I will be forever grateful for all that she has shown me through this unique ministry!! The first thing I noticed when I drove up to the farm was the peaceful expression on the horses. Scooter and Dreamsicle were both loose in the yard. They were neither trying to get away (from annoyance, boredom, or fear) nor were they rudely walking over people like spoiled pets. Instead, they were simply hanging out with us like fellow members of a happy herd.
Over the next several months of working with the horses of Beautiful Brokenness, I came to learn a lot of things about myself -- my strengths and weaknesses and how to work with them. And Katy was always around with a gentle, easy-to-learn lesson about God and His awesome love for us. I would recommend this ministry to anyone.

Katy and Beautiful Brokenness are such a beautiful picture of redemption and healing. We are so grateful to Katy and her ministry. Our daughter came from a very difficult situation at an orphanage. The love and healing she has received through Katy and her horses are immeasurable.

Katy's equine demonstrations, not unlike the sheep and Shepherd metaphors in Scripture, are a beautiful way of illustrating how it is possible to let go of fear and mistrust and instead live in faith. She shares a hope-filled message in a truly delightful and captivating way. Beautiful Brokenness, as a ministry, has so much to offer people who are fearful, broken, and hurting. I've had the privilege of participating in many of her events and demonstrations, and I could see how this message touched so many lives.

Beautiful Brokenness Ministry truly has been life changing for me. The picture of brokenness Katy uses to show us how much God loves us truly opened my heart and mind to seeing God's love for me in a way life never before.
