Causes: Group Homes, Human Services
Mission: The mission of Harvest House is "to feed, shelter and educate people for success".
Programs: The Harvest House operates to meet the basic needs of the homeless and those unable to afford housing while visiting a relative in the Boonville Correctional Center. We provide food, shelter, clothing and counseling as well as referrals in cases of medical emergencies. Service is provided without regard to age, gender, or race. The only prerequisite is need! Our facility serves Cooper, Boone, Cole, Pettis and Howard County residents, transients and referrals from other shelters. Harvest House provides a home-like setting to serve our clients. Each resident is provided a bedroom and access to a communal restroom, kitchen and living room. Laundry facilities are also available to residents. We emphasize self-help, employment, encouragement, counseling and budgeting to facilitate economic independence. We also provide referrals for clients with more serious problems.
