Good evening. I became a member of IFA while in my childhood. My mother is Spanish and my father is African American. My sister and myself both enjoyed meeting other children who were like us in many ways. The community was educated on the roles that each one of us has in society to bring awareness and understanding of the love shared amongst the families. We gathered over dinner and shared stories about ourselves and our interests. Looking around now as I have grown into adulthood and middle age, there is still a desperate need for this alliance to step forward into the community once again. Please join me and join this organization. We need love from all the colors of the World.

Kingdom Full Gospel is a church which provides for the community. They serve free hot meals every Wednesday for people in need. It also gives fresh fruits and vegetables. When you come in they give you a warm welcome, if you need prayer that is the place to go. The food and people are a blessing to those in need. Please continue in Jesus name..

The Greater Augusta Arts Council is a valuable part of the Augusta community. In more recent years I have become involved with the Arts Council through their public art initiatives. The implementation of the Augusta Sculpture Trail and the Golden Blocks Public Art Project has allowed Augusta to showcase its history and culture through public art.

I have been a volunteer more than 10 years and now an AMT parent. The instructors are highly qualified, the facility is state of the art and the programs and classes that are offered are like no other. Everyone should make it a point to check out one of their annual shows/showcases that are performed by very well trained students. In 46 years they are the areas 1st arts school and has not ever turned a student away for their inability to pay for arts classes. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place !!

The Fadel Educational Foundation helped me fund my Master's of Divinity, allowing me to fulfill my dream of being a chaplain through education at the University of Chicago. I was able to graduate debt free thanks in part to the FEF. I hope to be able to contribute financially as I grow my wealth. I am very thankful for this scholarship and cannot recommend it enough!

Stayed here for a month because that is as long as you can. It is possible for you to get out in a month get a job in a month and a place. These lady’s that work there do the bare minimum. Only two women go above and beyond for their clients. Then they are not constant. One worker will let people get away with this and than when another will be overly strict which isn’t good for kids. There isn’t any organization. They need to learn more about what is going on in the community help people sign up for dfcs benefits if they are not from in town. Basically help more not just come her get a paycheck and go home. Help their clients. It’s sad when another organization told me that they have been told that Safe Homes of Augusta barely helps their clients. Im thankful but there is needed improvement.

This is one of the most disappointing nonprofits in our area. I could not, in good conscience, serve on their board after some of the things I have seen. They misappropriate funds to fit the needs and personal agenda of the CEO's ego. Their "Annual Campaign" is a complete sham. The money raised isn't actual cash that they use for their so-called "scholarships." They attribute even a donated roll of toilet paper as "funding" and will grossly inflate the value of any in-kind items donated. The misappropriation is not limited to annual campaign fundraising. They misuse state and federal grant monies as well. It is common place to hear the CFO tell someone to charge any and all food purchases to their Summer Food program; which is a program that they love to promote as one of their community supports by providing healthy meals to children all summer, but many times the "meals" contain no more than string cheese, an orange, and bag of cereal. But the CEO, CFO, and COO enjoy how great they look helping "poor, black kids," but they can cater Fat Mans 3 -6 times per week for various Board meetings for their rich, white men. Their actions during COVID-19 were despicable. The CEO, CFO, and COO refused to take short furloughs or pay cuts, but instead laid off 90% of their staff. Those same leaders also received large amounts of Hero Pay, but many of their full time staff did not receive anything and were either furloughed or completely laid off. The CEO has a fancy golf club membership that he receives at no cost in exchange for free YMCA memberships for the golf club's employees and their families.

Savannah Riverkeeper is so important for our 4oo mile Savannah River and the entire watershed. We love having this non-profit keeping us informed and involved. We interact with the Riverkeeper in Augusta and all along the Savannah River.

We have been volunteering here for 5+ years and we still stand in awe of all that God is doing in and through Broad Street Ministry Center. We are so glad to be a part of this BSMC family, and we recommend it to those in need and to those who desire to give back to their community.

I have been involved with Storyland Theatre as an actor for the last 11 years. Many years prior to that, I sat in the Storyland audience as a child, eager to watch the magic of theatre unfold on numerous occasions. Storyland Theatre holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the major forces in my life that made me want to be involved in the arts and be a performer. There is something truly magical about Storyland and that is so evident when you come to a performance and see the looks on the children’s faces. I’m so glad that I get to be a part of this theatre family as we influence the next generation to be lovers of the arts.

The Jones Boys were so excited to go to camp with their mom. Judah and Samuel do not have the opportunity to attend overnight camps like other children due to their medical and physical disabilities. This was an excellent opportunity for them to be like other kids. They enjoyed riding bikes, playing putt-putt, riding a paddle boat, participating in a talent show and shooting an arrow with adaptive archery. The experience was beyond exciting to all of us. The staff was friendly and very engaging with my boys. We hope that we can have this opportunity again next year. It was priceless.

They helped with the cost of neuter and rabies vaccines for my dog. I couldn't afford it, and they made it so easy for me. Thank you.

I met Barbara Gleitsmann about 12 years ago when I adopted a beautiful red male cat from several that were offered at her adoption site. She was and continues to be loving, compassionate, and dedicated to the welfare of cats and dogs in the local community. I recently went to her for assistance in contacting help in regards to a small colony of feral cats. She directed me to a local group and, with their help, I was able to trap the cats. I managed to have three cats neutered/spayed, vaccinated and returned to their wooded home. A fourth member of the group was young enough to be adopted out. Barbara Gleitsmann was instrumental in finding a good home for this fourth one. I believe she has very little help and spends most of her own monies in the care she puts out for animals in the local community. I definitely recommend her to anyone who is in need of help or anyone who is looking to adopt a small animal. I'm sure donations would be very helpful and would be used for the purpose of helping animals in need.

Le Chat Noir is a bold theatre that presents the edgier plays that other local theatres won't touch. They always deliver something fresh to Augusta, GA and are very supportive of local playwrights. This is THE premiere black box theatre in the Southeast.

The Imperial Theatre is a beautiful, historical monument to the performing arts in Augusta Georgia. Not only does the organization work hard to complete the ongoing restoration, the facility is a rental house that is home to many local groups, while also welcoming acts regionally and nationally.

I have been faithfully volunteering at the CSRA Human Society for over a year. The organization's heart and soul is focused on the well-being of its animals. For a cause that functions with limited resources, the CSRA Humane Society spares nothing to ensure that the animals are healthy and well cared for. I love my fellow volunteers, but the animals are what keep me coming back and committed to the cause. The single most humbling experience I have had in my life was earning the trust of one of our horribly abused dogs. After repeated interaction, our relationship progressed in baby step increments. Now, he whimpers when he sees me and rolls on his back and then licks my face. I tear up every time that I get to hang out with him. I wish he could speak english. I would love to ask him why me of all people is someone that he could love after the horrific treatment that he endured at the hand of another human being. The CSRA Human Society's commitment to loving their animals unconditionally and refusing to make euthanasia an option is an incredibly honorable and worthy cause. Please help them.

In April of 2011 I was contacted at my home by a member of the Huismann Sickle Cell Foundation, Mrs Sandra Rouse. She told me that they knew my husband and that I was a Sickle Cell patient. She took out the checkbook and wrote a timely check to me. We talked for quite a while and she invited me to be the keynote speaker for the annual banquet and I accepted. After the banquet I felt like I had known them forever and I had developed a true admiration for the work they do in the community. Later I was invited to a fine dining and recreation event for a few of the patients but was unable to attend. Recently, after hearing that I had been under the weather the Huismann Foundation brought another donation to my family. I never expected anything like that but I am appreciative of their kindness.

What a thrill it was to move to Augusta, Georgia, in 2001 as a retiree and discover the Harry Jacobs Chamber Music Society (HJCMS). After living in New York City for over twenty years and the Boston area for ten years before that, my husband and I were accustomed to easy access to classical music in all forms. <br><br> <br><br>Becoming involved with HJCMS has been a beautiful musical experience as well as a lovely way to meet like-minded music lovers. I love the fact that children are welcomed to the concerts and the young people's music groups from area schools areoften highlighted in pre-concerts before the professional musicians' concerts begin. <br><br> <br><br>In every way, my association with HJCMS has been an enriching experience. <br><br> <br><br>Louise Sheftall in Augusta, Georgia

I have been an accountant for 35 years. This is the most flagrant abuse of 501(c)3 status that I have ever encountered. The two officers (who happen to be brothers) have hijacked this organization for their personal benefit.

My experience with Child Enrichment comes by way of hearing about the work that they do in the community, and then meeting Dan Hilman and Sheila Stubberfield and then I became a Board Memeber. They are very serious about the protection, healing and facilitating justice for the children and families that come under their wing. They do a service for a population that the majority of people would be happpier not thinking about. The reality is child abuse happends, and I am glad that Child Enrichment is around to help put the pieces back together for the child and family.

HPSO is a true blessing to the community!! When I heard about HPSO, I was amazed because here is an organization that truly helps people start over again. HPSO is the light at the end of a dark tunnel. And they don't give a hand out, they give you a hand up!!! I had the pleasure of doing a couple of fundraisers for them and it was awesome to give to such a great organization. I would highly recommend either giving of your time or financially to this organization because they really do make a difference in people's lives....like Sheila Harris with The Father's Heart Ministry is so awesome.
