I have worked with and donated to Maple Hill Sanctuary for over 20 years. The mission of this non profit is to provide for all horses in need of a home and care. Many surrender horses have been taken in as owners have passed away or faced hardships. Many senior horses have lived out their life at Maple Hill. Horses that can be rehabbed and that are adoptable are given a home with qualified adopters. Those that are adopted and done so under a lifetime contract are monitored for the rest of their lives. The founder and president is the hands on care giver with many years of experience and has a very experienced veterinarian close by to provide care as needed. I personally know the manager and can attest to the endless effort and and care provided to every horse at Maple Hill Sanctuary.

YJI is home , hope, and love for me. It's a platform that amplifies the voices of young people from anywhere in the world and gives them a valid opportunity to contribute their quota to world development through journalism. Being a part of this organization has been a blessing to me and words will be insufficient to articulate how happy I am to be a part of this network of young and energetic journalists. I have made friends, improved my writing skills, learnt more about journalism and how the world works, and also found my voice by being a part of YJI. I am pleased to be here! ❤️🧡

Gig Cares was set up to help Gluten Free Families around the country. They were great for months (except for some expired foods) and we were told we'd be receiving food for our 3 Celiac kids. <br> <br>After relying on this donation- we received this note: <br> <br>"We have made the difficult decision to temporarily pause the Cutting Costs program. Right now, we believe that the most compassionate and urgent use of our resources is to support gluten-free families directly impacted by these storms, many of whom are facing the loss of their homes, belongings, and access to essential resources." <br> <br>There was no update since the beginning of October and we live in a rural area and had come to rely on this donation. <br> <br>My kids keep asking when we are going to get the next box. Very disappointed and sad.

Great dinner take and go or stay and eat meal provided for hungry people includes coffee, dessert and bottled water to go. All are welcome.

My mare has been at Ride with Faith for a little over a year. The quality of care is excellent. I know she is cared for and about at the level I give her myself. The stalls are kept clean and the barn does not smell. Staff is knowledgable and professional. True horse people.

Last year I was having a really hard time financially. I went to Shelter Ministries to seek help and they far exceeded my expectations. Not only did they give my two children a very Merry Christmas but they also pulled together and helped me pay some of my mortgage for my home. They are always giving back to the community and truly care for the residents of Dekalb County.

I have volunteered with the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) for approximately 18 years. It is so rewarding and satisfying to be able to help people as they begin their journey on the required gluten-free (GF) diet due to medical needs to stay healthy. My son was addicted to heroin,<br>ABSOLUTE ministries taught him how to sustain sobriety, They provided him with a job and taught him life skills as he lived in his town home. They connected him with a wonderful mentor and a church family that welcomed and supported him as he progressed in the program. He learned a new way to live, and is now integrated into society as a healthy, sober, joyful individual.

I am a man who was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2012. The Dempsey Center and all of the wonderful people who work there or donate their time were instrumental is helping me and my wife through my treatment, which included a mastectomy, lymph node removal and chemotherapy. Relaxation techniques such as massages, reiki, yoga, nutrition classes, counseling, exercise, and much more. All free of charge to those diagnosed with any form of cancer and their caregiver. The Dempsey Center was so important, to me and my family that I am now a volunteer helping others affected by cancer. Wonderful loving environment that makes you feel like the special person that you are.

Skills Inc. is celebrating it's 50th anniversary in 2016. Turning 50 is a big deal but the significance for the community is the thousands of people whose lives have been impacted over the past 5 decades. Evolving from a sheltered workshop to a fully integrated thriving social enterprise employing and serving persons with disabilities through employment, programs as well as helping other businesses and partners with disability inclusive initiatives and education. We serve the Auburn Community in many ways. 100 percent of donations and fundraising project proceeds go to serve. Administrative costs are covered by members dues and meeting fees. Auburn Noon Lions Tuesdays at 11:55 for a 1 hour lunch meeting ( $) at the Auburn Parks and Recreation Building. We are not a religous or political organization. We have over 27 "routine" projects annually. We fund through the Lions Foundation, vision exams, vision restoration surgery with other partners and eye glass recycling projects. We put on the Auburn Easter egg hunt, support the Veterans Day parade, Have high school scloarships, hold a Special Needs Youth Fishing Derby, and sponsor a families in need Christmas gift and food program. We do a grounds spring clean-up of the Old Soldiers Home. We volunteer at the food bank packing weekend food for students with food instability. Consider joining us in serving the community. Together we can acheive a lot! <br>

This group continues to "fundraise" however they are not forthcoming with their status to fellow members or members of the public. The person involved in running the club has no vested interest in the sport that this club is supposed to represent, however I cannot help but think that they are receiving monetary rewards for "running" this club. Be very leary of donating time or money to this club, you do not know where your funds are going. They were automatically revoked by the IRS for not filing taxes for 3 consecutive years, they have only been in "business" for 3 years and continue to hold themselves above all rules and procedures set forth by the state and IRS. Are you sure you want to associate yourself with this group?

The CEO and staff are overpaid and their staff overhead is overwhelming. I will not donate to them anymore until the President and Chair of the board step down. They are a monopoly fleecing the state. Sad day.

The Lois Renfro Foundation effectively reaches youth at vulnerable ages and connects in a nurturing way that combines fun, food, positive adult influence, spiritual guidance, hope, and last but not least, inspiration. George Brummell is a passionate advocate for the future of today's challenged kids and leads them - in a very healthy environment - in a direction that will build their character and help them successfully navigate through the challenges of today.

Last week, I spent three days volunteering for Big World flight for Education (http://bigworldflight.org ), a Boeing Global Corporate Citizenship listed non-profit organization. This is my second year instructing. The program is fairly simple. We have contracts with four towns in Eastern Washington. We fly or drive into the towns and kids show up in buses from the local schools. We perform a fly-by as the buses show up, land and have a safety briefing, introduction, start the teaching sessions, then closing. We have four sessions: 1. The Pre-Flight Walk Around - the airplane parts, concepts of lift, speed range and performances, Controls (3 axis of rotations), appreciation costs of airplanes, what we carry on trips.. 2. The airport &ndash; Towered and non-towered, the taxiways, runways, lights, economic and community impacts, types&hellip; 3. The pattern &ndash; Communication, visual flight, pattern parts, winds, noise, access&hellip; 4. Flight Planning &ndash; cross country flight plans, fuel/range, weather, sectional maps, communication&hellip; We plant the seed in these kids, who around 6th grade. Most of the kids have not been around planes and may not have known of the local airports. There is no Boeing in these towns, and no engineering companies. The kids learn their potential to become pilots. In General Aviation, anyone can take a lesson, can solo at 16, can take friends with a license at 18 years old. Some express interest in building and designing airplanes in their future. Of course, we talk about Boeing and the aviation industry. The instructors are not just Boeing engineers but teachers, writers, and retired airline pilots. We are all pilots. We have briefings every day before and after. Last year we had 400 kids total at Republic, Oroville, Tonasket, and Okanogan in four days. It&rsquo;s really unbelievable how amazed the kids are while learning and how they all pay close attention to us. Sometimes, it&rsquo;s the subject matter that can peak their interest to study and understand Science and Math and to think about using it for practical purposes.
