I am so grateful to have given back through an organization called Tree of Hope Haiti! Tree of Hope Haiti has inspired me in so many ways! Their three main projects are providing clean water for the community, sponsoring children to attend school, and hosting missionary teams to build homes in the Grand Goave community. <br /> This summer, I spent seven weeks in Haiti organizing a summer camp for the children! I taught a class of thirty seven kids, many of which are sponsored to go to school through Tree of Hope Haiti's child sponsorship program. During this time, I worked with the kids on learning Math and English! Each day, we began by practicing basic English phrases ('Good morning,' 'My name is,' 'How are you,' and 'How old are you'). Next, we worked on saying the date, and the weather in English. After this, we practiced singing a song that we performed for the families at the end of summer camp! Then, the kids did a variety of games, crafts, reading, and writing to practice their Math and English! Each day, we also did story time and provided snack for the children! The kids had so much fun, and I am beyond proud of them!<br /> I also worked with each child to write a letter to their sponsor. Then, I visited each child's home, to keep their sponsors updated! The kids are so grateful for their sponsors who so generously help fund their education! While in Haiti, I was amazed to witness the kindness of these sponsors, and how their donations have truly changed the lives of the children. <br /> I am so happy that I could give back in Haiti! Haiti means the world to me, and has a special place in my heart. I was so filled with joy to see the children every day, and to give them this opportunity to further their Math and English skills at Tree of Hope Haiti. They learned so much, and I learned so much from them!
