Review for HorseSense Inc., Glendale, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Horse Sense's Adopted Horse Incentive Program is a win win - not only does it promote adoption, it also highlights the rescue organizations. I have been incredibly impressed with their mission, their professionalism, and their programs. Their efforts shine a light on the value of adopted equines and the tireless work of equine rescues.

Review for HorseSense Inc., Glendale, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is an organization taking a different path to help promote equine welfare - and what a great organization it is! They celebrate the adopted equine - mini, pony, horse, mule...what better way to promote adoption and equine rescue? Their ongoing photo and video contests offer bragging rights (and an exquisite rosette) - but more importantly, they promote so many rescues' efforts. While their high points awards have been a bit derailed by the pandemic, I am certain it will flourish like their other efforts. An excellent and worthy organization!

Review for Sunkissed Acres Rescue And Retirement Inc, Summerville, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am the Executive Director of Special Horses, a non profit organization (also a Great NonProfit) whose mission it is to help with fundraising and marketing for in-the-trenches 501(c)(3) equine welfare organizations. Sunkissed Acres is one of the first organizations we helped, and is a major reason why Special Horses was created. They are scrupulously honest and transparent, and they have helped so many equines I have lost count. Lori's knowledge of equine care and rehabilitation is simply amazing, and her facility is top notch. One of the absolute very best. If Sunkissed asks for help from Special Horses, we always say yes.

Review for South Jersey Horse Rescue, egg harbor city, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Special Horses has helped South Jersey Horse Rescue with several online fundraisers. They try to help as many in need equines in their area, and are a wonderful resource for the community. The commitment of their volunteers is a testimony to their good work.

Review for Second Chance Ranch, Spokane, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am the Executive Director of Special Horses, a non-profit dedicated to fundraising for equine rescues across the US. Second Chance Ranch is one of the rescues we support. Their Executive Director, Katie Merwick, is passionate and committed to the Equine Facilitated Learning program - the beauty is that she uses horses that would otherwise have gone on to slaughter, or that need a second home. It has been a pleasure to work with her to help support SCR. Special Horses insists upon fiscal transparency, scrupulous honesty, and responsiveness to donors, and we are proud to be associated with SCR.

Review for Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, College Station, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Bluebonnet is one of the equine rescue groups served by Special Horses, Inc. They do a remarkable job of serving horses in the wide expanse that is Texas. We are proud and pleased to be able to help them in their efforts.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Assisting them with fundraisers and outreach - their finances are used well, and they are scrupulously honest and transparent.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wish they would receive the financial and volunteer assistance to help them grow larger and serve the great need.

Role:  Professional with expertise in this field & We organize fundriasers and help with their outreach.
