You don't ever expect to hear the words "YOUR DAUGHTER HAS A MASS ON HER BRAIN." But I heard those exact words on October 31, 2007. Our daughter, Calla, was just 21 months old. Devastated doesn't even begin to describe how I felt. Not to mention scared outta my wits! Our family was introduced to the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. I didn't want to "belong" to such an organization. Because that meant that, to qualify, my baby girl had a brain tumor. Yikes. Fast-forward five years later: we cannot imagine our journey without the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. They were "there" for us. Need a shoulder to cry on? Need a listening and caring ear? Need cookies, delivered with a smile, to your inpatient hospital room? Need financial assistance for your car payment? Need just a simple hug? These BTFC peeps have got ya covered! We've had the privilege (?) of working with quite a few non-profit organizations in our daughter's medical-drama-filled life. The Brain Tumor Foundation for Children continues to be our FAVORITE charity. Not only because they do good things....but because they genuinely care. (Oh and pssst-by-the-way, Calla is now cancer-free, thank You, God!)
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
