My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Humane Society Of Richland County, Ontario, OH, USA
I have volunteered as shelter help and as a board member of the HS for over 7 years. Throughout changes in staffing, policy and funding, the staff keeps on chugging along trying to care for as many animals as possible with a limited amount of money. The organization is funded only by fundraisers, donations and any grants that can be secured. Life in a shelter is tough mentally and emotionally for staff and animals. I commend anyone who works day to day in a shelter....it is amazingly hard, but often rewarding!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have adopted many animals from here and sent hundreds to new homes from the facility. It is a great feeling to rescue an animal from a bad situation then be there to see it find a new family.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Secure more funding for more programs and staffing. This would allow the animals to benefit from more attention and excercise during the day.
Review for Wildlife Haven, Crestline, OH, USA
I have volunteered on and off at Wildlife Haven for almost twenty years. The animals there get such great care and everyone truly wants to help each one have a second chance and a normal life. I learn so much about wildlife when I am there and can in turn share that knowledge with others!

I wish they had more resources for new equipment and facilities so more animals could be helped.
