Review for Cancer Schmancer Foundation, Malibu, CA, USA
fran drescher is wonderfully warm and funny, making you feel as if she is a trusted friend...and this trusted friend with her humor, passion, strength, knowledge and beauty, has dedicated her life to educating and inspiring women everywhere to become medical consumers...becomng our own best advocates and encouraging us to spread the word....and i have made it my mission as well. i had the honor and privilege of hosting the first cancer schmancer chicago benefit.....working with and becoming a part of the CS family...and it is a warm and loving family.....embracing and sharing every experience and story...whether they know you personally or not..so inspired was i, that i wrote some poems...one of which follows... to fran: We met about a year ago You took my breath away Not just with your beauty But with what you had to say And you so inspired me Your cause became mine too And that has led us to this day And hosting this event for you. I’ve heard everything you’ve said My VCR is filled With all of your appearances And the legacy you’ve built I’ve learned so much along the way I’ve been a teacher too And I take my role seriously And the rewards accrue. I’ve told you what you meant to me In your Nanny phase But what you have given me Is so much more today So thank you for taking what you’ve been dealt in life to benefit each mother, sister, daughter, friend and wife and as if it was not enough to reach us in the USA you traveled around the world your message to convey we must keep searching for a cure until one we find but early detection is the key the two are intertwined and if we can get congress to help in this cause and with insurance companies change a lot of laws then the mission you’ve envisioned will be the new reform and stage 1 diagnosis will finally be the norm!!!! thank you from everyone you have touched, especially your chicago friends!!!!
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
through personal experience and experiences of people close to me....as a result of using what we have learned-advocacy, and knowledge in dealing with health issues.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
spend more time with fran
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
meeting fran and "seeing her in action"
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
AMAZING....On every level
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
help fund the tests insurance companies won't cover!
Ways to make it better...
could not have been better...we just need MORE PEOPLE to spread the word!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
changing the laws....but fran is making great strides!
One thing I'd also say is that...
thank you...for allowing me to be a part of CS.....
