This is a great non-profit org because it really allows the volunteer to influence its operations, specifically how the volunteers can form and mold their students' curriculum. additionally, the org is closely involved with the communities they visit and participate in meaningful community service projects. eta 4 isn't just about results, it's more about the process and the org leaves a lasting impression on students and community members on how to improve life one day a time, not after one summer. the lessons that the org stress include academics (improving the mind), athletics (improving the body), and arts (improving the soul).
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
what I've seen. In only 3 years, I've seen the organization grow from one program to three and seen tremendous dedication from board members and volunteers. imagine what it could be in 10 years with more support and resources.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
re-establish pipelines (nearby colleges and universities) that can produce volunteers, board members and leadership on an annual basis as well as constant support. the org is somewhat limited by its lack of man power and increased publicity of the organization might help
Advisor & Assisted in the startup of the org.
