Review for Big Brothers Big Sisters Northwest, Portland, OR, USA
I have been matched with my Little Brother, "V", since November 2010 in the School-Based program. In this program, V and I meet up once a week during his lunch/recess time at school. During those time, we either go outside and play basketball or throw a football around (something he and I have been practicing on as we're both not great at this). When it's raining, we stay inside and usually play Uno or checkers - both of which allow him to focus on an activity while opening up little by little each week. Overall, it's been great seeing him have a good time and look forward to our outings. It's also helped me with my patience and to stay up-to-date on the world of a 4th grader.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
my time as a Big Brother and staff member. I've seen the amazing and long-lasting friendships that Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest creates and the importance of what an adult mentor brings to a child's life.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
do nothing at this time, as I do not see any changes that need to be made.
