Review for Journeys In Education Inc, Peterborough, NH, USA
Last year I was fortunate to be able to pay a visit to the Mariposa Museum and participate in some of its wonderful activities. As part of a series on Peoples of the North, I was introduced to traditional Scottish songs sung while “waulking” (softening and cleansing) wool, and enjoyed a folk dancing session in which I used muscles and other body parts I hadn’t exercised for a while. These programs as well as meandering through the interesting exhibits gave me a sense of connection with those who live in other countries and the diverse communities to which they belong.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
As a teacher, I know that the Mariposa Museum has an important place in dispelling so many young people’s myths and fears of what they may find outside of their own closely knit group. What’s more, the museum makes it exciting and adventurous to find out about others who live far away. Linda Marsella, my dear friend of many years, certainly made a generous and visionary contribution to connecting people in such a way as to increase the possibility of peace and understanding in the world.
