Dare to Dream Children's Foundation
April 4, 2011
I volunteered to be on one of the many teams that Dare to Dream operates in the county of Dallas, Texas. The detention center houses up to 100 children ages from 7 up to 17 awaiting their trials or release dates. You can see the same faces for several month until their cases are determined. I talked privately with them to find out their greatest need, which for many was someone to listen to them and prayed with them. Some accepted Jesus Christ as their savior with tears in their eyes, many needed more time and understanding because the world had roughly treated them robbing many of their innocence. They are all a work in progress because of their environment, but Dare to Dream makes a significant impact while they are incarcerated. The world I live in is very troubled and it's up to me to help change the youth's attitude that each person can Dare to Dream of a better, more loving and caring world tomorrow. I am now a resident Missionary to Haiti.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I saw many leave the detention center with new changed lives for Jesus Christ.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Increase the volunteers to impact more children in more places in each city. The more you give to the children of your time and experience and love, the more it impacts their lives for good. This works anywhere in the world.
