I have been in support of this non profit duck rescue for 3 years. Being the first in Southern California to have an opporating domestic duck rescue on the internet, I am amazed at the care and well being of the ducks living there. The first time I was on the property, there were a little more than 60 ducks. Now, there are over 100 ducks that are being cared for by the rescue's founder, Carol Chrysong. Being semi-retired, this sanctuary has become a place of relaxation and joyful observation of these fun creatures.

I have been at the rescue when families come to visit ducks they have brought to the rescue, unable to care for them themselves. I have seen the looks on their faces when they find their duck in good health, looking happy in their new environment with new friends.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I have spoken to Carol about her immediate needs for the rescue. She has told me that because the rescue has grown so quickly, bigger pens are desperately needed for safety from night-time predators as well as the over-mating that occurs during mating season, which is now here. If, I could, I would help get these pens built. As it is, I will continue to donate what I am able to.
MY ROLE:
Volunteer & When I am able, I enjoy helping Carol swim the ducks that can't be out in the yard on their own due to lameness. The ducks really enjoy this and so do I.
