Kids in Need Foundation
March 27, 2011
I am very appreciative of The Kids In Need Program. Their support of education enabled our 6th grade students to dive into a plankton study of our local bay. This included baseline studys of what plankton they can find as well as a citizen science participation of harmful alage blooms. The students are sharing their learning with the 120 younger students at our elementary school and will culminate with working with local scientists and plankton art and trading card projects. This has been a powerful place-based scientific cross curricular study. Thank you!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
through receiving this grant. I appreciate the organized and professional manner that the grant is awarded and the communication also enables the project to get started and to happen!
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I have had a positive experience so have no suggested changes other than possibly making some larger grants available like perhaps $1000 - $5000 categories.
Professional with expertise in this field & We studied plankton in our local bay, became involved in citizen science for harmful algae blooms, and shared learning with younger students and community.
