Review for Crime Victims Assistance Center Inc, Binghamton, NY, USA
CVAC organizational structure follows a team model for overall management and coordination of program services. This type of focus allows shared ownership of the problems as well as successes and ties directly into the collaborative objective that brought each advocate to the job in the first place. It involves a broader type of critical thinking that includes multiple perceptions from both the service side of advocacy as well as the recipient’s experience.
Review for End Violence Against Women (Evaw) International, Addy, WA, USA
in June of 2006, EVAW helped present a two-day conference on “The Community Response to Sexual Assault” in Binghamton, NY. Over fifty recipient professionals and community leaders brought additional volunteers and new ideas to the table. They saw that while program members continued to work together, rarely did they have the opportunity to train together. The conference evaluations also prompted a closer look at the coiunty SAFE program’s momentum, direction, and resources. This timely and valuable series of events led to forming a new “Team” to strategically plan the enhancement of skills, increase the collective knowledge, and motivate the alliance of professionals to forge ahead to an even higher level of achievement.
