My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for From Lemons to Lemonade, , , USA
When Chic called me and asked to serve on the board of From Lemons to Lemonade, it was a no-brainer to say yes. There are few people who truly have the spirit of giving, who use their gifts and talents to help others overcome their challenges. Chic is one of them. Having her at the helm of this organization benefits the women they serve tremendously.
From Lemons to Lemonade is most impressive because they meet women where they are. They understand that life can be difficult, but they serve as a priceless support system for women, many of whom have never found that type of support before in their lives. From Lemons to Lemonade is a phenomenal organization.
Review for The National Crittenton Foundation, Portland, OR, USA
I run a blog for young mothers, helping them overcome the day-to-day challenges of being a young parent, and find the joys that come with this new responsibility. Back in 2009, I was looking to "give back" and host a fundraiser on my blog, preferably to an organization that helped young mothers.
I found the National Crittenton Foundation and fell in love. Their services are outstanding, and I loved how they told their story through their clients' lives. I participated in the organization's 2010 annual meeting and was blown away by the passion and dedication of their staff. I was so inspired by their knowledge and devotion that I decided to go to graduate school to get a degree in Family Studies. This organization is the real deal and I am SO glad they are around to do the work they do. It is so necessary.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The staff at this organization has helped me in so many ways. They extended an invitation to me to come to the annual meeting and get feedback on the book I'm writing. I've been able to learn so much from them. They are kind, welcoming and passionate about making sure women, mothers, girls live their best lives.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
I wouldn't change a thing.
