Green River Preserve
March 4, 2011

Green River Preserve is an amazing summer camp focused on teaching young people the value of an integrated, experiential life. They combine good environmental stewardship with active learning skiils, and through it all they have fun.

My son has been for many years and each time he comes home he says, "I'm my best me at GRP." I think he says this because he gets to his truest core values about living peacefully on this planet. There are no cliques or clubs -- the kids learn to respect and honor each person, no matter how different than themselves. And they learn this from the modeling offered by the camp's leaders, Missy and Sandy Schenck.

I never had the opportunity to go to camp, but GRP is the kind of place I love sending my son and knowing that it is shaping him into a wonderful young man.

The Great!

I have personally experienced the results of Green River Preserve through my observations of my son's experience. He comes home from GRP a refreshed, positive, enlightened person. I also know many college students who work at the camp, and they are of the highest caliber and most interesting young people I know. Many have unique interests/college majors: Forestry-Fine Arts; Religion-Biology; Photography-Philosophy.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wish that every young person had the chance to go to GRP to learn the lessons they teach and live out there. It is a remarkable place.

Client Served & I know young people who have attended and worked here.
