OPERATION GRATITUDE INC
February 26, 2011

Operation Gratitude's mission of providing care packages to U.S. servicemembers lifts the spirits of our troops by keeping them in touch with the good will of other Americans. It also allows us at home to join in the common cause of the men and women who put life on hold and their lives on the line to selflessly serve our country. The ability to contribute cards, letters and needed items allows a personal touch beyond the monetary contributions -- a handwritten note, a favorite film, an inspiring music CD, or fondly remembered childhood snack all provide a little taste of home. Everyone can participate -- from the CEO writing a generous check, to the grandmother who knits a handmade scarf, to the child who donates Halloween candy or stuffed animals for soldiers to give to other children where they are deployed -- all these efforts to "pay it forward" have a positive domino effect that goes in both directions with donors receiving updates on the positive effect of their contributions -- benefitting both the givers and all those who receive, and making days like the 4th of July even more meaningful.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

being kept up to date on the troops' appreciation for the care packages and those who sent them plus the extra special donated prize items awarded.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

make more people aware of how easy it is for anyone to participate -- we can all write a note or card and these are among the most in-demand items.

MY ROLE:
Donor & Wrote letters, cards, collected and donated small toys, cd's, dvd's, candy, snacks and other items.
