HEARTS TO NOURISH HOPE INC
February 24, 2011

The Hearts to Nourish Hope program without question provides a proactive approach to exposing the youth of Clayton County to work environments that they might not otherwise obtain. Gloria's Gifts Galore has had the pleasure of being a client of their program for the past two years now. The opportunity to provide work experiences and mentoring in a retail setting has been very rewarding to us. It's not every day that a cash strapped family owned business is given the opportunity to provide a job to two or more of our youth without suffering financial hardship in the process. The youth(s) that have worked for us have also been impressed with the workings and opportunities available to them should they choose to pursue a career in retail. We talk lot about the negative aspects of our youth but there is also the untapped positive that they possess that the Heart to Nourish Hope have provided to the community. Such programs should be supported to the fullest and allowed to not only continue but to flourish in our communities. If we do nothing else with our monies it should be to sponsor and provide financial support for this program (Hearts to Nourish Hope, Inc.). Hearts to Nourish provides a sound investment in the future of not only Clayton County but also Georgia and America as well.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

When an individual expresses a keen interest in returning to work for you come the summer then you have to feel that you and your business made a meaningful impact on them. The Hearts to Nourish made that impact possible. We provided one of our youth this past year with the opportunity to attend the Balloon University at the Atlanta Trade Center and he came away with ideas (and motivations) that he could use later in life if he were to choose a retail career.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Add more youths and young adults to the program.

MY ROLE:
Client Served & Provided mentoring on what the expectations will be at the next job/program they apply for. How to be better prepared in their work ethic and attitude(s).
