Review for Pride Foundation, Seattle, WA, USA
The Pride Foundation is wasteful and dishonest. First, it wrongly categorizes what should be development/fundraising expenses as program expenses. Further, and more important, it has a history of stealing endowments and not giving first priority to donors' intentions. In one example, it has stolen $500,000+ of an organization's endowment.
The Pride Foundation markets itself as an efficient re-granter. However, it is not. Donors should NOT give to Pride, believing it will be a good pass-through organization for their gifts. Instead, give to an organization directly--the organization will get more of your money, and you won't be paying for the management and administration of an intermediary.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have experienced the ill effects of Pride everywhere. They like to pretend--even more than more official groups such as Equal Rights Washington, the Seattle Commission for Sexual Minorities, Basic Rights Oregon and others--that they're the voice of the LGBT community, when they are absolutely not.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
rid Pride of its current management, require an audit to be conducted, conduct a study of its efficacy in actually improving the Northwest's LGBT community, repay the endowments it's taken dishonestly and, if necessary, dissolve the organization and liquidate its assets after it's finished paying out the remainder of the Weiland bequest.
