Over the past few years, the Vortex has offered productions of the highest quality. I believe it is the most consistently interesting of the 37+ theatre-producing organizations in the greater Albuquerque area. I am thinking of shows like "Medea," "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf," "Much Ado about Nothing," "The Little Foxes," and "Glengarry Glen Ross"--all of them first-rate. The theatre is also receptive to new work by contemporary playwrights, with a new-short-play festival every year and sometimes a full-length new work as well. Finally, the Vortex is an outstanding citizen of the theatre community, helping other theatre groups and participating in community-wide theatre initiatives.
Congratulations to the Vorticists for maintaining their longstanding tradition of superb live-theatre activity.
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
See "What did you do?" above. I also deal with the Vortex regularly as a member of the Board of the Albuquerque Theatre Guild.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
encourage them to display "Albuquerque Spotlight on Live Theatre" in a more prominent place in the box office area.
General Member of the Public & I attend Vortex shows regularly and perform in them occasionally. .
