Boys & Girls Club of Carteret County, Inc.
February 9, 2011
The Boys & Girls Club of Carteret County was responsible in helping the city of HavelocK, NC to develop a Boys & Girls Club. I am a Taco Bell franchise and became aquainted with this club through the national program Taco Bell had at the time to help America's youth. When I read about the club, the fact that Colin Powell placed one on every military base, and the financial record it maintained I felt a club was needed in Havelock, NC. I felt this was a charity that did as it professed. It helps children become responsible and productive adults. I am happy to say that by allowing Havelock to share the Boys & Girls Charter held by the Carteret club children of the US Marine Corps living off base at Cherry Point Marine Air Station where given the oportunity to join this great organization. I am a donor, and I sit on two boards because I believe in the value this organization gives to children who would not ordinarily receive such sound guidance. I am almost 75 years old and will continue to serve this children as long as I am able. I ask you to join me in helping these children of our worthy service men. Sandy Hagan
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Fantastic. Please read first statement. I have watched children grow, I watched children succeed in school because of the Power Hour program. I seen children come off of the streets into a safe enviroment. I believe that is a 6 year old can be saved from "dropping through the cracks" they can become successful in life. Self esteem is taught and one can see the results by visiting one of our clubs.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Try to make the public more aware of the value this club to their community. The organization seems well organized and operated in a very professional manner
Board Member & I help establish a Boys & Girls Club in Havelock NC.
