My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Lutheran Social Services Of Southern California, Orange, CA, USA
I have long supported this organization through both volunteering and financial resources. LSS Community Care Centers serve the poor, homeless, almost homeless with groceries, clothing, counseling, budgeting, finding housing, mental health programs, showers and so many other things. LSS has a very small management group and many volunteers, so your donations are not swallowed up in administration, but actually get to those in need.
Review for Operation Gratitude Inc, Encino, CA, USA
Operation Gratitude packages care kits for members of our military who are in harms way overseas- mostly Iraq and Afganistan, but other places as well. The care kits include CD's, DVD's, candy, cookies, books, personal toiletries, scarves, beanie babies, and other items that are donated. The kits are packaged by very large numbers of volunteeers- sometimes upwards of a thousand volunteers will show up on a Saturday to help. The committee is very well organized and once things start rolling in the morning, everyone gets a job, and the operation works like a clock. It is absolutely amazing how many packages get packed. This is a wonderful organization with a wonderful goal of serving our troops.
