I have worked with Bright Futures on several occasions in assisting horses that have found themselves in precarious positions. They are always willing to step up and assist in whatever way they can, keeping the best interest of the horse in mind, always.

They are totally transparent, forthright, and honest, and an asset to the community they serve, as well as the animals that they help.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Assisting with placement, training, and care of horses in need.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Try to find more volunteers, and explore more ways to fund the good work that they do.

General Member of the Public & Requested assistance in rehoming horses in need.

Horse Feathers Equine Rescue Inc
February 6, 2011

I began following Horse Feathers at it's inception in 2006, when I watched in awe as a horse blossomed, and thrived from a neglect situation so severe that I felt there was no chance for recovery. I continued to observe their operation, and liked what I saw.

Shortly thereafter, I began to ask what I could do to assist this organization in continuing their mission. I began to assist with grant writing, fund raising drives, and made trips to the rescue to assist with evaluation of the horses, and work days. I continue to provide assistance whenever I can to continue their mission, and provide more services to the area they serve.

On my first visit, I met several of the horses that I had read and heard about online. I knew what they were facing and their condition when they arrived, and saw what good care, and love had accomplished. Their friendly trusting demeanor spoke volumes in testament to their treatment, and level of care they had received since their arrival. I observed the children who come to work with the horses, and watched as they developed relationships with both animals and others, and the life's lessons learned.

As a member of the Board of Directors of this organization, we are continually working to provide better care for the animals, and provide a means to assist with their care. We are in development of an Equine Assisted Therapy Program which will offer the sanctuary horses a vital role in helping heal those who seek assistance, as well as providing the one on one interaction that these horses crave.
