APNM is, hands down, one of the most effective state-wide animal rights groups in the country. The Board, Executive Director, staff, and volunteers are amazing, and work tirelessly on behalf of the animals. Any money donated to this organization will be spent well.

This organization is not exactly what most people would consider a true exotic animal sanctuary. The founders are retired circus people, and many of the animals are used in performance acts that are passed off as "education." While the people who run the organization no doubt care about their animals, it appears to be more of a stationary circus disguised as a sanctuary, rather than a true rescue.
