Review for Alzheimers Art Quilt Initiative, Burton, MI, USA
I first became aware of AAQI at the Houston International Quilt Festival several years ago when I entered the booth and looked at all the quilts. I was handed a brochure and read that information also. And I bought one of their art quilts. The next year, I found out my father had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He passed away a short 7 months later from a heart attack but he still knew and recognized me. Since that time, I have ALWAYS gone to the AAQI booth in Houston to purchase 1 or more quilts and I encourage others to purchase quilts, make quilts and keep this organization in their thoughts when they are looking for a place to make a donation. All proceeds go to Alzheimer's research! Not many organizations can say that and I want my money to go where I want it to - not to administrative costs. Thank you, AAQI!!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The upbeat way in which they promote their organization, further the cause of Alzheimer's research and raise funds for that cause are uplifting.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
There is nothing I would change about AAQI. They are supportive, friendly, encouraging, and they give quilters a way to contribute by making quilts and give anyone who has an appreciation of art a way to support them by purchasing art quilts.
