ATHENS DRIVE ARTS FOUNDATION
January 30, 2011

The Athens Drive Arts Foundation has allowed both of my children to participate in an incredible program that has been the highlight of their high school careers. The Arts Foundation provides support to all the band programs which have provides great friends, great programs, great opportunities and the activities that have become their high school memories. Between two children, they have been involved in 20 different band programs at Athens High School. The Arts Foundation supports each one of these programs and affords our children once in a life time opportunities. My son's favorite opportunity was the trip to Indianapolis when Athens participated in the Bands of Americas National concert. My daughter's favorite memory is her friends. All of her high school best friends and the friends she has kept in touch with since going to college are 100% from the band program. It attracts great kids, and gives them a productive high school program that challenges them and allows them to become better people. ADAF supports all of these programs and takes them to the next level of opportunities and resources that in turn positively impacts every child involved!

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Having two children who are happy, productive young adults who have great friends, great grades and wonderful high school experiences that has already resulted in helping both children get into the University of their choice to further their educational and life goals.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Help them with huge fund raising events that would provide large returns as they have to do many smaller programs that are additional time and work for a board who is already very busy with so many activities.

MY ROLE:
Volunteer & Served as color guard lead parent during my daughter's senior year and volunteered at every marching band event, chaperoned band camp, practices and trips and led the recognition banquets at the end of each season for 4 years.
