Review for John L Gerber Tr Fbo Hoffman Orphanage 46y002010, Lancaster, PA, USA
MRB Research currently funds research on the threatened Western Snowy Plover in the North Coast counties of California. An additional project is related to a 72 foot Blue Whale that was killed in an offshore accident and drifted into a cove south of Fort Bragg, California. The skeleton was saved by a tremendous effort by residents and businesses in the area. The story can be seen on line at the web site for Friends of the Blue Whale.org. MRB Research is acting as the fiscal agent for the community group that plans to resurrect the skeleton in the community of Fort Bragg in a coastal public viewing location on a former mill site at a facility to be built in conjunction with the City of Fort Bragg and Sonoma State University.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Working with a community who came together in so many ways (Blue Whale) was a wonderful experience. As fishing and logging decline, the City of Fort Bragg is re-inventing itself and the Blue Whale has become a pivotal part of it's future in bringing people to the coast. For the Snowy Plover, seeing young researchers be able to learn and grow and work toward the hopeful saving of this species has been a very rewarding experience.
