Review for Syracuse Childrens Chorus Inc, Syracuse, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is my daughter's first year with SCC and she has truly loved her experiences thus far. Her chorus director is outstanding. She engages the children and keeps them enthralled throughout their weekly 90-minute lessons. I cannot say enough great things about the breadth and depth of the musical education they are exposed to, from reading music, complicated chorale pieces, to breathing techniques and exercises. Having it on the Syacuse University campus at Crouse College is also a nice tradition and so exciting, too. Such a worthwhile chorus experence for the children and a wonderful gem for the Central New York community.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

As a parent and community member, I have been able to attend SCC concerts in the past and this year. They are always professioanlly done and so well received. The Christmas Concert is not to be missed. The children's voices sound so angelic and spiritual. SCC provides the children the encouragement and tools to sing to the best of their ability, which is truly awesome to behold.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I think SCC does a fantastic job with hosting 4 concerts per year plus additional concerts with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra and other venues, including the local zoo, Disneyland, Carrier Dome, etc.. Perhaps a couple other public presentations by SCC (such as at the Mall or at local schools, or during local music fests?) could further showcase the talents of the chorus and spread the word to music teachers throughout the CNY community?
