Lou Chapman
Review for Oregon Humane Society, Portland, OR, USA
I am a 10-year volunteer and donor and can attest to OHS' focus on animal safety and care. Volunteers are supported by training programs as well as hands-on mentoring. Working with animals is rewarding in itself, and the staff at OHS is appreciative of volunteer efforts. OHS has a good reputation with Portland and Metro population. Many animals have been given second chances because of OHS' commitment.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I've adopted 4 pets from OHS. Over 20 years, there have been huge improvements made to the building, all with donor contributions. Adoption fees cover only a portion of OHS expenses and the level of donations made indicates the level of confidence in OHS.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Develop a easy to use way for new adopters to tell how it's going with their pet to share with Volunteers. Volunteers can develop attachments and it would be nice to hear about their new home
