Palmer Drug Abuse Program-San Antonio, Inc.
January 10, 2011

PDAP San Antonio has saved my life and my wife's life. We have two daughters who were struggling with chemical dependency issues. PDAP has provided extensive confidential and free counseling for us and our daughters. The weekly parent support meetings are also extremely helpful. Thru PDAP, we also work the 12 Steps with a sponsor. All of these things have led us to relative peace--which is miraculous given our near-insanity prior to finding PDAP.

PDAP has helped one of the daughters experience real recovery after a post-treatment relapse. She attends weekly PDAP meetings, meets with her counselor and sponsor, and is doing very well.

We have been helped dramatically by PDAP San Antonio and have now become donors, volunteers and one of us is a board member.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

We have learned so many things from PDAP San Antonio: how to depend more on God and less on ourselves; how to let go and let God; how to raise bottoms; how to implement and enforce boundaries; how to stop enabling and rescuing; and on and on. We are closer in our relationships with God and as a couple.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

The only changes I would make in this organization is to find increased funding so that more counselors could be hired. It is estimated that PDAP San Antonio is only able to reach 10% of those who need help with this ever-increasing problem.

MY ROLE:
Board Member & We now assist PDAP San Antonio by leading parent support group meetings, sponsoring parents wanting to work the 12 Steps, and conducting newcomer meetings.
